I am so envisioning a 2000 sq ft coop, complete with indoor plumbing, a chicken treats prep kitchen, dirt room for bathing and a garage for the tractor.

We're going to definitely need a separate sink with hot and cold water. The inspector for the State noted it was the only thing I didn't have in order to sell my eggs commercially.

I got a lot done today. I got the wire up on the raspberry trellis. I also managed to get most of the temporary fence up around the garden area. Jet has been having a lot of fun jumping over the plastic 4 foot fencing. His favorite thing was jumping up on the potting bench and watching the little kids next door. I still need to build a temporary gate for the garden space, It was nice around here this morning, and I was able to get another 3 loads of laundry dry on the solar clothes dryer. I managed to get the backyard mowed. There is still a lot of repair that needs to be done to the lawn to make it nice again. I almost forgot that I got the greenhouse cleaned out. I pulled all the geraniums that were winter over.

Now I need to get the begonia bulbs re-planted in the baskets. I am thinking that I am going to keep things fairly simple, and just plant the over wintered plants and bulbs. It's still tends to mean there will be 28 or more hanging baskets on the house. We are going to need to some repair on the drip systems. I can't manage without the drip systems and timers. The tulips are beginning to bloom in the front yard. I will have to try and get a picture of the tulip bed.

I didn't get the chicken coop cleaned out. It's not completely nasty yet, but it still needs a clean out. I just hope that I haven't totally over done things today. At least tomorrow I can stay inside and work on the doll quilt, so that Cheryl can finally hold Emily in her arms.

To anyone who read this morning's rant, I apologize. My frustration boiled over and I didn't mean the things I said. I did, however, give away the chickens. So long, and good luck.

I have a GIANT wire dog crate available for $30.  This would make a really cool bantam coop with a few minor modifications...

First pic, I had my son get inside to reference size, for anyone that doesn't know him, he's not a small kid...11 years old, and just about 5' tall...

And this rooster in the background is a LF Faverolles, about 7-8 lbs....

Have you sold this?  I will take it if no one has come forward. I could surely use it.

Yep, it's gone. :)

I know! Now he says just keep the play house for the goats to play with. I give up or do I wink.png

NEVER!!!!.  Keep the play house and use it how you had planned AND build something.  DH has pretty much gven up on me.  He just rolls his eyes and leaves me alone any more.

Oh.... I forgot to mention. I have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic....yes diabetes runs in my family and yes I have some "immediate" family who are insulin dependent.  "Pre" basically (from what I understand) means either "shape up now" or pay the price. It sucks getting old. Oh, and my vitamin D was at an extreme low level so I am on 50,000 units for 12 weeks (a week) and then recheck and back to 1,000 units a day if that works. Again...stinks getting old.

Please get with the program and get that under control NOW ! You do NOT want to go there. For DW  we do 1 med for diabetes, 1 insulin morn and eve and one insulin morn, noon, dinner and bed time. Testing 4 times a day. And then if the health aspect doesn't get your attention. Maybe this will test strips $45 per month and insulin   1 box (2 1/2 week supply)  $265 we use almost 2 boxes per month of  one kind and 1 box of the other. Just think what not taking care could cost. THAT NEW TRUCK!

Trust me...I am focusing. I don't want to have to do all that. I will be exercising and eating better. I think I am going to join weight watchers on line...to help keep me on track. that way I have to document and "answer" to someone (thing).

I would be willing to share a VERY good eating "PROGRAM"  NOT DIET  that works very well. Has nothing expensive to buy. It is all regular things from your favorite grocery store. It is just a matter of what you eat. Dump the carbs !

But carbs are yummy...I like carbs. That is the hard one.  I am actually sitting here craving a cracker.  Actually, sliced cabbage seems to get rid of my craving for crackers...crunchy, almost salty flavor.  Raw cabbage...who knew?

And CABBAGE IS one of the GOOD things that this program includes lots of. It is a high protien veg.

Well, I love cabbage so that is a good thing. I guess I will buy it more regularly.
