I really did - thank you Robin!  We visited with her room mate and her family who were also staying at the apartment - (6 of us sharing one bathroom was fun).  I got to meet her friend she's flying to Italy with while the girls worked out their itinerary and reservations for their 5 free days in Italy.  We had lunch with Lily's boyfriend and his mother who is a smart, funny, attractive woman who's company I enjoyed.  We attended an Aromatherapy class in the rec center and just spent our free time visiting, having a glass of wine, snacking and watching a little Downton Abbey on Netflix together.  We avoided the Kelly Clarkson concert and nixed the luau at the last minute because we found ourselves running out of steam.

I packed up with Prius with as much stuff as I could so that she should be able to get the rest of her possessions home in a couple of weeks so hopefully I won't need to make that 5 hour drive again next month.  It's a long trip when I don't have anyone to visit with while I'm driving.

Okay friends - I know there is a lot of information spread throughout BYC, but I'm hoping I can get some quick direct answers.  I spoke with a friend last night who says she's seen mites on at least on of her birds so we're going to treat them this morning.  She is very hesitant to use any chemicals on her birds but I'm urging her to take action to take care of the problem as quickly as possible.  We're going to dose them with Eprinex - can someone remind me how much to use?  And what else besides Sevin do you use to dust the birds?  She wants to dust with DE only, but I'm thinking something stronger may be required.

We'll also be cleaning out the nest boxes and coop today - should we use a bleach solution?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you!

my understanding is you need a separate sink with running water and something with hot water like a crock pot if you must. hu.gif
