My garden is officially planted. YAY.... MY tomatoes, corn and squash are still in the house but everything else is planted in its place... What a relief. Didnt get the brooder painted tho it started sprinkling. So I came in the house to enjoy a cup of coffee.  I hope everyone else is having a wonderful Saturday. smile.png

We have really enjoyed our girls and sit out watching them while we have our morning coffee! We are looking in the Skagit, Whatcom, Snohomish or even in King counties. We have looked around but we want pullets about 15 to 20 weeks of age! Please if anyone knows i would really appreciate the info! bow.gif

Welcome to BYC!!!

You should contact Tailfeathers here. He lives in Granite Falls I think or near there. He raises Welsummers and Wheaton & Blue Wheaton Ameraucana's for show.

I have loads of Olive Egger chicks but they are only 2 wks old and unsexed. I'm also hatching a lot of splash/blue/black marans in the next two weeks. If you are interested in either, let me know!

OK, so I didn't start the coops yet. My hubby and one son helped do yard work most of the day, we are all sore now and tired.

Im going to try and get it started tomorrwo or at least put up a fence to keep some chickens in one area.

Happy day saw the buff silkies outside, they never go out unless I put there fuzzy butts outside.

Hi, I have French Black Copper Marans (love them), English Orpingtons :(colors Blue, Balck and Splash) they are so sweet. Oh also Cream Legbars :that lay nice blue eggs. We will be offering eggs and chicks from all of them just PM me to get on the list for which one youd like. We also have a few sweet Dairy goats ( Nubians and Toggs)

Well dang, the roof is sealed on the new coop and is almost completed. Tomorrow for sure. What a great day it has been. I got most of the yard cut (old lawnmower was not impressed with my ambition. The old window from the shed cleaned up somewhat, but will have to look into having the fixed pane repaired as there is moisture between the panes.

If all goes well my girls will be in their palace on Mon, Tues latest.

Looks as though I have a roo in the group of eight. Any suggestions for a name?  #1 one son has suggested Stu, I might go with it.lau.gif

This show is going to be bitter sweet for me. See it was one year ago that I started at this show ( with the encouragement of many of you. Now for the bitter. This will be the last show at Stevenson. I have had so much fun doing this show and From my view and MY opinion the crew have done a good job of putting this on. This is just MY OPINION based MY EXPERIENCES here.  I just hope that wherever they move to is close enough for me and the rest of you to be able to continue to participate.

Others have made the comment (on Face book) regarding last one at Stevenson...what does this mean?  Are you saying They (Stevenson) are no longer doing shows?

Sorry, this is off the subject you were discussing....but FMP....why are there no shows closer to our side of the Mtns?  Why are there none in the Spokane area?  I am unable to make it to Stevnson this weekend (which really stinks) and I know there is one in Montana the 5th of May (closer actually than Stevenson) and that same weekend one in Southern Idaho.  I would think that Spokane has enough fanciers that would be interested in a show don't they?

There was talk before of starting a poultry club for the east side of the state/north Idaho but not much happened. There is talk of starting a club still, it could happen still. There is the Spokane Interstate Fair which is considered an APA/ABA show that hardly anyone goes to. I know there are lots of backyard people in the area, and based on craigslist, there are plenty of people with good  birds too, so trying to start a club now would be worth it. Even just to have a couple shows a year would be great!

Please keep me updated. I would love to be able come over for a show. Not sure how I could help...but ya' never know. I know there are poultry fanciers here in the Okanogan County...possibly could get them interested too.

And as far as members, I have really only met chicken rustler and cloverleaf as far as new folks (plus, her and I are friends on facebook). I already know pips&peeps because we are on the same side of the state. I was surprised that more BYC folks haven't come up and said hello. I saw some of cmsdvm's birds but not them yet. Tomorrow we will be there for the awards ceremony and coop out. My sister brought her white call drake and blue sumatra bantam hen for youth. The sumatra got ignored and didn't even get judged with the rest of the birds so ended up getting BV but her call drake did amazing. He got BV,BOB,best of class, best bantam duck, best duck, and best waterfowl. The weather was amazing over here, when I checked the weather last weekend, it was supposed to be raining and cold but it was hot today which was a nice break.

As for me, I won a dozen LF barred rock eggs and I got a trio of bantam single combed light brown leghorns. Not the best looking birds right now and I am not sure of the age of them but they can be worked with over time. Also I plan to use them in a breeding project...
