So far with 14 eggs in lockdown we have 2 Breda fowl out and 1 Blue Copper Marans out.  2 more have zipped and 1 pipped.  It's really getting hard to make my daughter clean her room with chicks popping out of eggs.  She wants to "sleep" in the room with the incubator.  So far the answer is no!

So, I went in for allergy testing last week.  Found out I'm allergic to feathers, dust mites, and all trees (that pine bedding is brutal).  Bummer!  We're keeping the chickens - my kids would be heartbroken if we got rid of them. I'll just have to take precautions when I'm around them.  The 3-weekers got booted from the family room to the garage and now, when I'm around them I have to wear a respirator.  Today I have spent much of my day vacuuming.  Oh my goodness - chickens make a ton of dust.  I wish I had realized how dusty they'd be - they would have started their life in the garage and not my house!  th.gif

She was 13 blocks from my parents' house. She was in someone's backyard (not fenced) and she had dug under the deck. The guy heard her howling the last few nights and finally went out late last night and found her...brought her in, fed & watered her and then called my parents at 6am this morning. He has a chocolate lab, too!

Poor Bailey stunk to high heaven, was very tired and thirsty but glad to be home!

The best part, this hippie dude that found her didn't want a reward. He said that knowing she was home with her family was the best reward!!! :) It is good to know there are still people like that around!

Sorry for the bad pic---my mom took it with her phone. Yes, Bailey's eyes are THAT red. Poor thing probably didn't sleep for 10 days!

Things I learned; do not stick thumb in saw blade. The emergency room is a lot further away then you thought. There will be a long wait after they get you in an examination room. They don't use stitches any more, they glue the skin. When ever you reach for something with the injured hand you will bump the injury. Life gets difficult when you can use only one thumb. I'm not quite as fast as I use to be and not as smart either.thumbsup.gif

Laughing with ya not at ya.  Not sure which is better you testing the saw blade or me using my head to test that weighted pipe to see if it was really hard enough to drive steel fence posts !

One thing I will do once the house is done, is paint my "whimsey signs" I love the old sanwich board signs...whimsical and from past eras.

Two years back my husband did the same thing right before our son was to get married.  He got 8 I think stiches and than they waited to see if he would be ok. Had to see about the damage. He was worried about shaking hads at the wedding but he got them out the day before.. Oh he did it adding to my little coop..
