Indeed!  I say it all the time..... well, not the burning part.  I have never heard about burning chicken poo.  I'm still baffled.  My garden is looking BRILLIANT since I've been piling on the (often uncomposted, BTW) "chicken-ey hay" and "chicken-ey bits"--the wood chips from their day pen.

I do I do I do love the poo!

Never mind me.  I really have no idea what I'm talking about, I just like pretending that I do.

Hubby thinks i am nuts or chicken obssessed...  Go to our new house with the landlady and look at what all needs done to fix it up.  Her and I got busy catching one of her rabbits and then discussing how to get the coop fixed and make it better there so my birds will be happy.  Hubby is more interested in the inside: carpet, linoleuom, tiles, paint on walls.  While her and I are busy talking chickens and ducks.  lol

he said he is changing the look a squirrel to hey there's a chicken for when we gett distracted  lol...

Went to a yard sale yesterday too.  Found a alot of stuff but of course was too busy admiring  her chickens, ducks, and geese.  But I did manage to find a few books I liked...

My group: The girls: 3 speckled sussex, 4 barred rock,. The Boys:  2 white chicks, 3 rouen ducks.   We also have 1 scottish fold cat,  1 1/2 persian 1 red heeler dog.  I'm a full time college student.  2 kids, 3 stepkids, 8 step grankids.  that's all of the bunch I think.

That is funny about the turkey tom sitting on the eggs too....I wouldn't be surprised....I had a pair of hens once that would rotate the sitting duties and often both sit on them at night together, or one would take a day or two off then they would switch......eliz

Can anyone tell - are they old enough to figure out if they are pullets or not?  Left to right they are an Easter Egger, Light Brahma and Rhode Island Red.

well, I don't know about the other two, but the EE looks like it has dark red on it's shoulders and back, which would make it a boy. If you post a picture of just the EE in this thread, http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/463817/easter-egger-sexing-tips-and-tricks-pictures-includedhttp://www.backyardchickens.com/t/463817/easter-egger-sexing-tips-and-tricks-pictures-included , somebody will sex it for you. Make sure you get the comb, back&shoulder, and legs in the pic(or 2).

Well shoot. I went to upload the latest pics of the coop, run and the girls and apparently my camera went toes up!  Looked for my card reader, found the cord but no card reader. Not suprising, I spend a lot of time looking for things. Nah, it's not old age, I've been doin' this all my life. I put something away where I know I'll find it and then forget where it was I put it. Frustrating.

When I find the reader hopefully I will be able to upload the recent pics.

shoot.

The surest way to find something is to buy a new one. :)

Just adding my belated comment about the eye medicine, it's called Teramycin and comes in a little tube about 2 inches long.  I try to keep it on hand as part of my medical supplies.  I have 16 rabbits, 5 guinea pigs, 2 chinchillas, 13 birds, 1 hamster, 2 chickies, 8 quail and 3 dogs.

I live in Ellensburg so if anyone needs to meet up in the middle or drop off stuff, feel free to contact me.

My quail are 6 weeks old and 3 of them layed their first ever eggs yesterday!!

It is "suppposed" to be 84 today.  Angoras will need frozen water bottles.

Anyone coming to the rabbit convention next month ?
