). Yes, the little guys will squeeze through the bigger wire. Gotta watch for that. I would bet with a heat lamp for them to get in and out from they could be outside at night, but I would not put them inthe run. i was going to tell you how to post multiple quotes,but looks like someone got ya' set on that one.
Oh and a head's up....all the birds will find 1 or 2 of their favorite boxes and they will all squeeze into that 1 or 2 boxes to lay. Even if you have 10 or 12 boxes. They will all find their favorite and that is that. craz birds.
Whispers: CR - I have that transponder you gave me. I will make sure to install it in the new coop where 4312 will not find it. Dial in the proper frequency, and bada-bing - new chickens :)

We can beef up the bottom of the run before they do go outside, but I'm not in any hurry to get them there. We used to have 31 chicks in a big cardboard produce bin here in the house... the majority of the "stinkie-poopie babies" as I've affectionately started calling them are outside now, so we're down to Teeny and Tiny, Petunia and Marigold the Red comet chicks, Dahlia and Penny the speckled sussex, Lily the Light Brahma, and Chrissy, another EE. The chicks I bought and will be picking up in Seattle( a Cuckoo Maran and a Welsummer) were hatched 5/9, so I expect that by the time I get them they'll only need to be inside a week or so, if the highs/lows stay the same. We've all become chicken obsessed around here: the catalog I ordered from has become so tattered from us looking at it. The book that has influenced me the most is The Small-Scale Poultry Flock by Harvey Ussery: I built our flock based on cold/heat tolerance, docility, and egg color but we designed our coop and run based on his observations and experience.
I had heard that before, about the boxes....silly birds! Seramas, huh? I don't know much about them...I'll have to look them up :)
Best.
Chicken.
Book.
Ever.

For some reason, Sunbug, I just can't seem to "quote" or reply to you....if you come to the house to pick up your chicks I will send you home with some meal worms for your babies. I have "accidentally" started raising them. It is funny.
I want some! (Seriously)

Have nail gun will travel :)
Same deal I made 4312. You pay the gas to get me there and back, and all the materials. If you have room for my travel trailer, you'd save your self the cost of a hotel. Oh, and I don't eat much :)
(CR - I'm going to need more transponders me thinks
)
