We thought of "Flats Chickens" but then I invisioned birds that were flat like they had run over.  "Fowls on the Flats or FF or Fancy Flat Fowls...FFF (Ya, I see "F" bombs here).  We ran through all kinds of names. I actually went on to my FB Serama club and asked for help.

Whenever I hear the words "flaming chikens" I think of a big-rig accident on Pacheco Pass in California that my brother responded to nearly 20 years ago (He is a CHP officer). Tequila Truck head-on with a truck hauling chickens. Sadly, the innocent driver was killed (One truck went over the median), chicken cages and chickens running everywhere, many in flames. My brother said for a few years afterwards he'd see scarred chickens foraging on the roadside in that area.

Q. Why did the chicken cross the road.
A. To show the opossum and armadillo it could be done.

It is insanely instantly so hot !

Can you put a chick out with 10 week old pullets?

No, do not do this. They will most likely kill it. It either needs a friend or to go back to the feed store.

eta - I'm surprised that they would let anyone leave with just one chick!

We all use marbles (some use clean gravel) in the water fonts for chicks.

The reason why is cuz they can get trapped in a font or bowl & drown.

Although I'm mechanically minded and like working on things it takes a toll on my hands for sure.

The tranny is all back to gether now. Waiting for #1 son to come home and help me (I watch/supervise, he works lol ) put the tranny back in the LM and see if it will work or at least be able to get reverse gear as needed.

My problem was water had gotten into the tranny and caused some problems and varnish build up. Took care of all that so we will see what we will see.

A couple of zert fittings would have been nice for sure. This winter when I tear it down again I will install zerts. Putting it back together with the case filled with grease is absurd.

Good to hear, and if ya was closer DH would help out...his hands still work great...the rest I am not sure of !  big_smile.png

Well, we have been throwing around the name "Willow Flats Poultry" (for the giant-giant willow tree we have in our back yard and the area we live is considered "the Flats").  whatcha think?

I like it - sounds like a pleasant place to eat eggs from. I live on Rattlesnake Ridge. I can't exactly market mine as "Rattlesnake Eggs". Pretty much anything I pair hen and Rattlesnake does not come out sounding safe.

He should not be drinking at all.

He is but 18 years old, correct ?

Really need to find out where he is getting the booze...usually kids drinking run in bands, so maybe a friend is getting the booze ?

Does he have boozy friends ?

Oh yes...in fact the mom who chewed me out...her son is one of them. She says they are "just being kids" and we were kids once and did things like this....ummmm I never did...I know some who did do some drinking...but I did not. I have NEVER drank so much I blacked out or went into a stranger's house. And yes, oldest is 19...on Thursday - the day he went before the judge. Happy B-day. Also one of the other drinking buddies has an older brother - could be him (the older brother is an alcoholic).  They were all partying together....my David got so drunk he was biligerent...his buddies left him passed out in the park. When they came back to check up on him he was gone.

He needs new friends. Or at least he needs to see them at your house, under your watchful eye.

Yes, he does need new friends. Unfortunately, he is no longer welcome in our house at this point. We just can't have him around the two younger kids. He is 19, has no job, just graduated, has no plans for his future...we have had continued problems with his decisions...so we now need to think about the younger 2...until he can follow and respect our rules/etc in our house....then he needs to find other houseing.  To give you an idea to understand David's behavior...he is the one in the movies...the college buddy that has not "moved on"...that goes from friend to friend's house and sleeps on their couch until either the girlfriend or wife kicks him out...THAT IS MY DAVID!
