flaming chickens.... You could have chickens with flames flying through the air.  I love it. We thought of "Flats Chickens" but then I invisioned birds that were flat like they had run over.  "Fowls on the Flats or FF or Fancy Flat Fowls...FFF (Ya, I see "F" bombs here).  We ran through all kinds of names. I actually went on to my FB Serama club and asked for help.

Such a flipping roller coaster of a day.  Our Silver did die.  She rallyed for a bit but obviosly had internal injuries or head trauma?  BLAH.

My nephew is doing much better.  But says he wants another one like her. So might be hunting for one.  In the meantime my impulsive brother went by the co-op and bought a black and silverish chick.  UGH  He has no clued what kind it is.  And just ran it right before closing and grabbed it.   I told him I just don't know if I want to start over with one chick right now?  He said he can take it back but just don't know. 

Can you put a chick out with 10 week old pullets?

No, do not do this. They will most likely kill it. It either needs a friend or to go back to the feed store.

Just went out to check on my chickens and another chick jumped in the water and drowned.   This hen has the worst luck.  She started out with 4 and is down to her last chick.  one disappeared and 2 have drowned.  I am thinking of tossing rocks in so the other one doesn't drown.  I have a little chick watering thing for them it was inside but I brought it out.

Watch pullin' them wheelies!  The bevel gear in the tranny is expensive and designed to fail b4 you strip out the other gears. Congrats to DH for a job well done.

Although I'm mechanically minded and like working on things it takes a toll on my hands for sure.

The tranny is all back to gether now. Waiting for #1 son to come home and help me (I watch/supervise, he works lol ) put the tranny back in the LM and see if it will work or at least be able to get reverse gear as needed.

My problem was water had gotten into the tranny and caused some problems and varnish build up. Took care of all that so we will see what we will see.

A couple of zert fittings would have been nice for sure. This winter when I tear it down again I will install zerts. Putting it back together with the case filled with grease is absurd.

I think I remember some one was looking for some light colored EE's so here you go! Just found this on Craigslist.....

I like it - sounds like a pleasant place to eat eggs from. I live on Rattlesnake Ridge. I can't exactly market mine as "Rattlesnake Eggs". Pretty much anything I pair hen and Rattlesnake does not come out sounding safe.

Oh yes...in fact the mom who chewed me out...her son is one of them. She says they are "just being kids" and we were kids once and did things like this....ummmm I never did...I know some who did do some drinking...but I did not. I have NEVER drank so much I blacked out or went into a stranger's house. And yes, oldest is 19...on Thursday - the day he went before the judge. Happy B-day. Also one of the other drinking buddies has an older brother - could be him (the older brother is an alcoholic).  They were all partying together....my David got so drunk he was biligerent...his buddies left him passed out in the park. When they came back to check up on him he was gone.

He needs new friends. Or at least he needs to see them at your house, under your watchful eye.
