Blueberry's new chick!

Adorable! When I had a broody hatch eggs, they hatched a day early as well.

This is one of your blue eggs! Sirius must be doing a good job taking care of your EEs too lol.png

There is one egg peeping under Blackberry too - here's hoping everything goes well! fl.gif I'm not sure about the third egg, no peeping yet. (It's under Blueberry.) I'm hoping the girls will co-mama as their mamas did.

Well this morning's removal of bees from the old house proved to bee pretty eggsciting!! We had barely started to remove siding when the bees went very aggressive. Two guys got bees INSIDE their suits. That's NOT a good time. These bees were so bad that the onlookers who were not suited but 80-90 feet away got stung. They had us all going for the duct tape to do extra sealing around legs and hands. I was the only one of the 5 person crew who didn't get stung. I figure tomorrow is my turn. One guy who wasn't suited got stung inside the nose!

When all done we ended up with one full box of very mean pisseeed off bees, 45-50 pounds of comb honey and about 10 pounds of bees in the bee vac.

I hope my job tomorrow goes as well but with nicer bees. And this person has SAID she is going to make cinnamon rolls and coffee for us (kind of hard to eat through a bee mask though).

I didn't even look up the ordinance....I'm out in the county and my neighbors can't even hear them. (weird, because William can get pretty loud!).

I LOVE THEM. When I was stationed in Germany back in the mid-90's I lived next to a farm that had a pair and I loved listening to them. Now that I have my own - WOW they are much louder! But it still makes me feel like I am in the wild middle of nowhere when I hear them call. (I had no idea that the girls honk though! THAT was an interesting surprise!)  I still marvel at the striking color of blue, and Kate has more color on her neck than I imagined she would - I always heard the girls had no color! But she is lovely in her own right. She sure does have a personality - takes no guff off of anybody - and even bullies my tom cat! :)

I am completely enthralled, if you couldn't tell. How about you? How long have you had yours?

(Edited to say-well I have one neighbor that can hear them but she loves them too and isn't bothered by it. She lives .2 mile away and is my closest neighbor)

Hi, All!  I'm new to this thread.  I have 7 pullets 4 weeks to 3 months old. (Gap due to neighbor dog attack. hit.gif)  We live just a mile out of town, but with our acre and a half and only one neighbor, we feel very "out in the woods."  Despite the incessant March rain, we managed to get our coop up and our chicks out of the bathroom.  Anyway, I wanted to say "hi" and get started on this thread!

I actually only have eggs I am incubating now... they don't look promising because the postman roughed them up pretty good one egg sac was obviously broken hit.gifI'm looking for peachicks now... thinking about getting some from a hatchery online because nobody in WA I've found that has them is responding... but I don't think I want 8 peafowl, just a couple, so I'd have to order the minimum of 8 and find homes for some of them.

Well, Kate should be coming out of the woods anytime next week with hopefully her brood. I'll let you know! They aren't sexable until about 4 weeks though. If she doesn't show up with any and you have the 8, I might have a neighbor interested in taking a couple off of your hands. Good luck with the rest of those in your 'bator. fl.gif
