So, I'm going to be in Enumclaw on the 29th to visit a friend and delivery some chickens. Anyone have 100% English blue, black, or chocolate Orpington eggs or chicks or birds I can get while I'm there???  big_smile.png

I'm not in Enumclaw but I'm growing out my 100% blue English Orpingtons right now.  I probably have an extra boy or two who will need to be rehomed in a couple of months if you can find some blue girls to go with him.  They are all going to be beautiful birds  - wish I could keep the boys too!

We just added to our flock today. I talked hubby into taking me to the new Farm store in Auburn, awesome place. We didn't ask but we didn't see any chicks there. I really wasn't going there to look for those, just wanted to see the place. Hubby had other thoughts so he took me on a drive to my Uncle's feed store in Graham, Webster Rd Feed Store. They always have chicks yr round. I loved the quality of chicks i got from him 2 yrs ago. I got 2 Buff Orp & 2 Light Brahmas this time, 2weeks old. They had baby ducks that hubby wanted but I said no. Now he jokingly told my daughter that Mom doesn't love him enough to get baby ducks lol. I just roll my eyes. Maybe next time. I had hoped my broodie hens would take them but my RIR freaked, later she went back to laying on an egg, silly chicken. Last yr my broodie Maran took care of new born chicks, oh well. Hubby had a huge cardboard box that he cut the side to make a big brooder. Took a while but the chicks finally figured out where the food & water were rather then eating the shavings dust. Had me a little worried but they found & figured it out. I feel good supporting my Uncle right now even though it was a long drive, my Aunt just found out last month she has cancer.

So I've never had any chicken with feet feathers. Anything different then a reg bare leg chicken? Things I need to watch for? They are so cute.

So I have another question, anyone who can help please do! Princess isn't eating. She's a bit dull today and IS drinking water, but isn't eating at all. She took a very nice long dust bath this afternoon in the sun and seemed happy but when I picked her up tonight she felt lighter to me and had nothing in her crop. Everyone else has full crops and marched off to bed. What do I do? How do I encourage her to eat? Could the big birds be starving her? I have a separate feed trough (a chick one, full to the brim) in the coop in case they chase her away from the large feeder in the run, but she hasn't touched it. She's still walking around but whenever I try to give her anything, including meal worms, she just turns up her nose. Help! Her poops are normal.
