I was about to ask if they were Bantams.  They're tiny.  Probably because they are still chicks.  love.gif

Yes, you'll get to love all over them when you're here on Thursday if you want! They're so soft and gentle compared to my others, it's kinda funny and sad at the same time because I like chicks so much better. Chickens are just so...rough.

Do anyone else's chickens peck at your legs when you're nearby? A few of my more outgoing ones peck at me if they don't get ALL the attention. It's not nice! I shoo them away with my feet gently but they come right back begging me to put down whoever I have and pick them up instead, LOL. Kinda annoying because I never know who's going to bite my legs through my pants...or my bare skin if I'm bending down and they can find skin.

Thanks!  It's not blossom end rot.  But, one of those links mentioned that early on you might just get male flowers.  I hope that's what's going on.  Now that I know the difference, I'll go out and look.

No.  But, if I so much as lean down toward them, they'll run for fear that their chicken momma is gonna hold someone.  gig.gifRhodie... that girl has mastered the game of chicken chase.  She is darn near impossible to catch.  She could probably outrun any predator.  Drama is still the only one that will snuggle down with any of us.  Caunnie "ba-gok"s us and tries to fly away although she will allow us to hold her for a few minutes before making it very clear she is done.

I love the way chicks look too that's why I now have the English Orps they remind me of a big chick

Hi, I have French Black Copper Marans (love them), English Orpingtons :(colors Blue, Balck and Splash) they are so sweet. Oh also Cream Legbars :that lay nice blue eggs. We will be offering eggs and chicks from all of them just PM me to get on the list for which one youd like. We also have a few sweet Dairy goats ( Nubians and Toggs)

Our coop is 8'x8' with open windows in each side, along with a full sized door that is open, and the door for the girls. This coop is attached to a enclosed run that is 8' x 14". There is a large pellet feeder inside and a 5 gallon waterer outside.

We have 21 chickens. 10 of which are not old enough to lay yet, and 2 of those are roos.

I have a question ....hu.gif

Can I leave them within these confines for 2.5 days, when they are used to being let out everyday, all day ?

or....ep.gif

Would it be better for me to leave their run door open so they can get in and out, leaving them open for a visit from the coyote that frequents here ?

Thoughts ?
