Poor baby girl is sick. She went to bed at 8:30, woke up at 10, burning up. I gave her some meds, tried to get her back to sleep. Ended up putting her in bed with us for three hours. Then she woke up snorting coughing and crying. Got some baby Vicks onto her, the humidifier set up and now she's asleep again...

Your guide to the Everett Fall Home Show

Whether you are planning to build a new home or make the one you have fit your needs, you can move closer to that dream this weekend at the Everett Fall Home Show at Comcast Arena.

The eighth-annual trade show will help you to coordinate all of your home-improvement tasks from the roof on down.

You can compare costs and innovations from more than 200 vendors, many of them local, offering products and services such as construction and plumbing to home furnishings and decorating at the three-day event, which begins Friday.

Guest speakers will hold daily seminars on preparing for emergencies, saving money on heating and remodeling, and cooking with Old World ingredients.

Free activities for children, and admission for ages 16 and younger, mean no one has to stay at home.

Take a break from the browsing with coffee and pastry samples from Blue Stilly Coffee Roasters and Oven Monkey bakery from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, and from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the seminar stage in the main arena.

Buy tickets online or at the door. The first 5,000 people to sign up for discounted tickets online will receive free admission; go to www.tinyurl/everettfallhomeshow.

Read more about some of the vendors and speakers who will be at the show:
Monroe Fireplace can help you find the right stove.
Dave Parker will teach you how to prepare your family for an emergency.
Need a better closet? Talk to All Ways Organized.
Learn about the benefits of infrared heat from Comfort Glow Heating.

LOL!  Waaaaaah!  I loved garlic, too.  Must've ate too much of it and my body said no more.

I've gotta ask... what's wrong with beans?  Isn't Paleo a vegetarian-based diet?  The last I knew, beans don't breath, walk, fly, eat, poo, or do anything an animal would do.  hu.gif

No, Paleo is very much a HUGE meat base along with veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds, fish. We don't eat beans because they were never intended for our bodies to process large quantities in nature; until the industrial era when they started mass harvesting planted grains and beans, nobody ever had beans as their primary source of protein, they were more of a snack like God intended. Before then it was impossible to harvest enough beans to make a whole meal out of them, they were just a small side thing. So Paleo leaves them out. We like some bean recipes but don't eat them often because they don't make us feel very good.

Sorry your girl is sick! Mine have been going through a quick thing too; Wednesday Jeanine had a 24 hour bug; 104 fever and aches, tummy ache too with some diarrhea. William may or may not have had it first but it was milder. John hasn't gotten it yet but my sister said all 5 of her kids cycled through it too this week since Sunday but it's quick. Hopefully that's all she has!

So far 9 hatched and two more pipped. I started with twelve eggs. There was one early quitter. 11 out of 12 isn't bad.

I hear you! And this year I have roosters. So you can imagine what my hens would look like after a few weeks of rain and a rooster doing his thing multiple times a day. Very dirty hens!
