I don't know if I ever told ya'll about this house, but it is huge and devided into two living spaces so my BIL and his wife would be able to move with us. Even with that there are still enough rooms for all the kids to have their own. It is on just under 10 acres, fenced for horses, 9 stall horse barn, with a HUGE COVERED areana!!!!

Sounds great. Good luck.

I remember someone talking about a house in Monroe that was fabulous.  Is this that house/property?

thumbsup.gif Yep, that's it!

This is the front view of the house.......

This is my the barn. 9 stalls each with its own fenced area off of them and heated tack room.

Proud Momma of 5 wonderful children. Support from the greatest husband at my side. Kept company by a Great Dane, Mastiff and a Dane/Lab/Shepherd mix. Pest control from 2 cats, Pigs now in the freezer. Turkeys didn't make it past the Hollidays. Many breakfasts and lots of laughs and great times provided by over 30 adult LF chickens of many breeds! Now on our adventure to buy a new Farm.

We slept in here at my apartment this morning (really needed it after the past few days!), then I needed him to help me move some furniture here (long story) before he took the bus back to his place. So, he didn't get home to look after Salma until almost noon. We left her inside in the dog carrier with plenty of food and water yesterday around 6pm. He tells me she seems a bit out of sorts but her eye looks better and she is more energetic (read: resisting her pill doses!) and starting to preen again. He said he wasn't sure she'd eaten anything, which is probably because we covered the carrier with a blanket so it's been dark in there. So he fed her with the dropper. Each day since the attack, she's had a lot more appetite later in the day than in the mornings, so hopefully she will eat on her own again later today. We still can't find that cotton-pickin' heat lamp, so for now she's still indoors since it's chilly today. I really wish we could find the heat lamp and put her carrier outside because she finally started eating on her own when we put her outside yesterday. I told him that if she doesn't eat on her own soon, he should just put her outside for a while anyway so that maybe she'll eat. He also said that the "out of sorts" mood is probably because she seems more aware of her surroundings now, which is a good sign. I don't know... now I'm feeling guilty for leaving her alone for so long.

He's going to let me know as soon as she eats on her own. I'd drive up there but the gas money is getting shy what with all the trips back and forth.

That's awesome!! You could make any number of those stalls into chicken coops too! Just hardware cloth on the external horse stalls and a roof over top and you'd be set for any number of horses and chickens!

Compressed straw keeps them occupied....I use it in nest boxes and sometimes on the coop floor.

They cannot eat it though, they've no teeth.

A good thing to do next year, is plant a few compost hills with spaghetti squash & sweet meat squash.

During winter you can crack one open with an Ax & give it to them, they love it !
