Now this one (Audrey) has me wondering. It seems to be a common color for a girl, but has a puff at the tail base and a pretty big tail. The pictures aren't very good cause it is kind of skittish...IMG_4173.JPGIMG_4174.JPG

Red is leaking in all over. New shoulder feathers are looking white.

Looks like a pullet to me... I think you'd see more condensed red on the shoulders rather than here and there all over if it was a cockerel.

She's definitely a pullet. The size of her tail looks normal to me. My girls all had/have larger tails than some of my other breeds, but they're all girl!

Thanks!  Yes, I think I'm going to have to hold on to them for a bit longer to see how they play out.  I took a hard look at the white and black one with red yesterday and if that is a hen, she is the tallest hen I have ever seen.  From the body up, she looks hen, but man those legs are long.

Here are the 'most likely suspects' a few weeks older.  I now suppose they are all pullets, but hey... who doesn't like looking at pics? We are at 11 weeks now, I think.

Suspect #1  (in foreground, both pics):

Don't know, but I love suspect #1!  I love the black head and white and orange body!

Mother to 4 wonderful children, grandmother to 4.  1 DH (39 years), 1 pug, 1 Basenji, 1 dashshund mix (notice I put my DH in that same group! hahaha)  6 EE's, 1 Buff Orphington, 1 RIR, 1 Silkie, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Brown Leghorn, 1 Polish, 1 Welsummer.  Hope to fill my basket with different colored eggs!

Thank you BH!  They really are sweet birds, shy too.

Illia pegged them all as pullets... Where in the world is she?  I hope all is ok in her world, her expertise on this thread has helped me sooo much.
