The reason I question Cheeks right now is more attitude based...lots of chest bumping , feather puffing etc. I know pullets do that too...sometimes I guess you just wait for an egg or a crow!!! ;)
Cheeks has a pullet's coloring. Cockerels will not look like this. The pullets are the one who work out the pecking order. My cockerel at 13 weeks did not interact with the girls like that. He seemed "above the fray" but was obviously dominant, as he always ate what he wanted (the little piggy).
Your girls are at the "teen age" stage and are acting like teenagers!
Mine also are going through some repositioning in the hierarchy as they are starting to lay (4-5 months) and some are downright cranky. It's my girls near the bottom of the order that seem to squabble the most, like they're trying hard not to come in last! The dominant girls only have to turn a head or take a step and the others give way. Only very occasionally do they need to reassert themselves.
