Raising Mandarin Ducklings?!

Do you know anyone that has some mandarin ducklings that are willing to be sold?

I think most people sell theirs as juveniles in the fall. Babies are harder to raise, and shipping is even harder on them. I guess if you could find a local breeder, maybe they would sell you some ducklings. You can post a wanted add in the buy, sell, trade section.

Yes you won't find babies for sell. If you do they'll be like eggs, highly over priced. It always blows me away to see people paying $150 for 6 eggs that 99% of the time won't hatch anyway. They don't ship good at all.
But you can buy a yearling pair for $50-$60....

I am looking to purchase a few mandarin ducks but I don't want them pinioned so they have to be young enough that I get some time with them before they fly off. I have a pond on the property and have raised mallards that come and go there. Everywhere I see is juveniles only. Any suggestions?

uhh yeah you probably shouldn't let them out on your pond

, mandarins will probably fly off no matter what so i would suggest having their wings clipped and putting them up at night, having them pinioned and putting them up at night, or try an aviary.
