How do I know if my goat is about to kid?

She finally kidded! CC did, I mean. When I went out there, she'd just given birth to the last. Total 4. Two born dead (very sad) and 2 girls born alive and looking good.

I'll take pix when I can.

Now waiting for the second doe to kid. Any day now.

Pre-selling if you're interested. The mamas are nigerian dwarf and the papa, Peter, is an alpine/nubian cross. We'll keep them at least 6 weeks.

Thanks for asking, Glen.

Here are the two girls that CC had on Friday. We call them white doeling and brown doeling! Didn't take pix of or examine the 2 stillborns (so yeah, she had 4).

In this second pic are the 2 kids born yesterday to Honey. She had a boy (polka) and girl (dot ... she has a dot on her pink nose).

They were SO active this morning when I went to let them out. Unfortunately CC has been nipping at Honey's kids' ears when they get in her way. NOT a good auntie! CC's udder is lopsided because her kids prefer the left teat. Will milk her right one again tonight if needed. Honey is a great first freshener/mom.

I'll be posting them on Craigslist to sell soon. Whole herd needs to go because with my newly-epileptic son, I just don't have the time.

Anybody want them?

Very cute!

The 2 that died could have done so for many reasons - maybe their cords got tangled and they suffocated or maybe they died because their just wasn't enough room for the 4 of them.

You're too far from me otherwise I know of a few people who are looking for kids right now. Good luck selling them!

Thanks!

Yeah, really didn't know what caused them to die. They were "full-grown" ... same size as the others so it happened either right before birth or right after. Thing is, the mama didn't even try to clean them so I'm thinking they were stillborn and she knew it was a waste of time to clean.

They are so bouncy and are starting to realize that there are four kids to play... not just 2. Hilarious antics.

We have someone already scheduling to look at one this weekend to take home to bottle-feed, and another person wants to look at our blue-eyed doe. I'm not ready to part with them!
