Wacko Geko Quilt Block Swap-SIGN-UP CLOSED - Page 2

I have never done a quilt block exchange, so I have a couple of questions.  I would need to make 12 blocks and send them to you w/ a return envelope, and you would send me back 12 blocks other people have completed, right?

Do all the blocks need to be the same fabric, or differant?

All 12 would need to be completed and mailed prior to June 15th?

This isn't agreeing yet, just considering it.

1=Yes you make 12 of these blocks and send them to me. I get everybodys blocks and divide them up between everybody. Basicly the way it goes is, the number of blocks you send in, you get back.

2--No the blocks don't have to be all the same fabric. Only Rules are Batik or wild prints for the Gecko's and light colored background

3. Yes, all 12 need to be done and mailed before June 15th. This will give us a summer quilt to put together.

4-Consider HARDER!!!! Come play with us!!!

I am very tempted, I really like the quilt block, and I have a really good idea for the finished quilt.  I'm just trying to figure out if I have the time, and it is a whole different style for me, I have never appliqued before. (either hand or machine)  But I don't do hand work at all mine is all machine.

I've done the applique's in the past and just finished another one from Coyote's crazy ideas. lol  (I'm new to it too) I've come to the conclusion that I'm not very good at it.  Kinda sloppy.  But this one looks pretty easy!

I'm thinking about it.....................I have loads of batik.

I also have no batik fabric, not sure what I have that would be suitable for this project, but there are worse things in the world then fabric shopping, and I would have a legitamate reason to buy fabric when my husband asks "Don't you already have enough fabric!" hide

I just signed up and if I'd read all the messages I'd have answered my own question. I don't have to use all the same fabric but can if I want to.  Let's all have fun with this one and anyone that hasn't done it before I say "try it, you'll like it"  I don't know yet what I'll do with the blocks but I'm sure I'll fnd a use for them.
