chicks have diarrhea- is it the new treat?

I have 6 chicks that are approx 10 days old. They all had normal poop. Yesterday I gave them each a few meal worms and now they have some runny poo. Is it the new food on their tummies or should I be worried about something else? They are all eating and drinking just fine and dont act sick at all. Every time they see me coming now they start hopping round and pecking at my fingers for more worms!

Check out the poo chart. Did you give them grit first?

Thanks for the chart!

I gave them grit with the worms and will watch them and compare to the poop chart!

I don't think it is the treat if they got grit...but it wouldn't hurt to give them some probiotics if it is indeed diarrhea.

I also started to give my 3 week old chicks a couple of meal worms a day as treats, and at least one of them has developed diarrhea. The poop looks like the picture of the foamy poop listed under the "ceacal" category of pictures on the poo chart. It also has a very foul smell. I started them on probiotics this evening and will see how they are doing within the next day or 2. I'm a little worried, but they are all eating, drinking and begging for more treats (which I will hold off giving to them for a few days). I'm also giving them a little grit even though it's not required according to Purina Start and Grow feed.
