My last batch of chicks hatched over the weekend. I ended up hatching right around 50 Iowa Blues out of the incubator. And I've got two hens setting on a ton of eggs so I anticipate more chicks this week too.

Does anyone happen to have pictures of 6-8 week old Iowa Blues they would be willing to share? I have a special needs Iowa Blue chick that I've been raising (slipped tendon that I was unable to fix, but I decided to give it a chance and it's living happily with one functioning leg) I was hoping to just allow her to live out her little hobble foot life here but I don't want to perpetuate a genetic issue if there is one...so I'm really hoping it's not a rooster...

My Iowa Blues seem to be fast maturing. Not sure on others. I'd say if its 6 weeks you've got a cockerel but if closer to 8 weeks you could have a pullet there. Sorry I don't have pics of chicks that age.
Anybody want some Iowa Blue pullets? I've got 10-12 extra pullets. 5-6 months old. View attachment 1948706
Yeah, if you was a little closer I might be tempted with that offer, and if it was a little bit warmer yet. Gotta get my coop set up for winter soon as we're getting some wet sloppy snow here in Michigan. Missouri is just a little too much of a hike for me right now, unless I had some other reason to be in Missouri like GVSU at NWMSU or CMSU.Anybody want some Iowa Blue pullets?
