How to incubate peacock eggs?

You really cant tell how old the hens are once they are grown. With a male, his tail gets longer as he gets older (or so i was told) so you can kinda judge from that.

I have been wanting to do the same.. but I have to wait until I move

hmmpf...
But I have been wondering... with my Silkie chicks in the brooder... Has anyone ever tried letting a Silkie brood the Peafowl eggs? Someone said they will sit on any kind of egg, turkey, ect... Or would their little Silkie butts fall off the eggs?

But would they be able to turn them? How many would fit?
.........
I have bought a Peacock and Peahen. They were both raised by Silkie and Bantam hens. The breeder told me his Peahens were notorious for not sitting after they laid a nest full of eggs.

Lot of us peafowl breeders use both chicken hens and incubators, and yes peahens too.

Beg to different peachicks are not stupid....but need raised diffent than chickens, like turkey. Best also to raise then off the ground, feed a medicated turkey starter, or gamebird.

Best to post in peafowl section, get alot more knowledge from those that have hatch them.........

Peafowl are in the same classification as chicken, so are turkeys. They're all chickens, they all fall in the same line as: Pheasants, quail, Prairie Chickens, and Partridge.
