SQ Egg Swap - Page 150

Offer 6 White Chantecler or 6 Buff Wyandotte Bantam eggs.

Our White Chanteclers were acquired directly from Greg Oakes of Ontario, Canada at the Crossroads Joint National Poultry Show. They are very gentle. These were acquired for my Mother-In-Law, but she prefers red laying hens. So these are now back at our farm. It may take a few days to get laying back and we have one Presale ahead of this listing. Since we only have one hen, we CANNOT combine shipping with other orders.

Greg Oakes keeps three strains of White Chanteclers. One is an old one from Ontario, a recent one from Quebec and the one Greg evolved off of the old Ontario strain. The Greg Oakes strain looks like the one in the standard. The old Ontario strain looks like it has more Cornish with a wide front end and shorter back and the Quebec one looks like it has Wyandotte influence with larger combs and wattles. The Chantecler is a composite.

This listing is of the “evolved” strain that looks like the one in the Standard of Perfection.

Our Buff Wyandotte Bantam lines are from some of the oldest and best lines in the country. We have won Best of Variety and Reserve of Variety numerous times in Open Shows. We have had very little competition in the Buffs; however, we have rightfully been placed as Best of Variety and Reserve of Variety at the following shows:

2010 APA National – Shawnee, Oklahoma

2010 APA State Meet – Pine Bluff, Arkansas

2010 Arkansas State Fair – Little Rock, AR

2010 Drew County Fair – Monticello, AR

(200 bird show)

2nd Cock Crossroads Joint National 2011

Our male is from Lou Horton via Superior Farms

We have added a Tom Roebuck male.

Our females are from the Anderson line in IL

These are very gentle and easy to handle. Their color and type are excellent. We have checked the fertility and have some due to hatch soon.

I will be on/off BYC. If we owe you hatching eggs, please forward us the listing information. We are almost caught up on them and do not wish to miss anyone. Geese are now laying!

it's the current offer, until someone claims it and offers something of their own for the next swap.

Karen - k.i.forgot (it's a ham thing...)
Welcome to the Zoo!  2 Morgans, 2 Minis, 1 Standard Poodle, 3 cats, 3 pet birds and the chickens.

Dorkings and bantam Cochins mostly, with a few others here and there.

And of course, my wonderful Hubby, who puts up with me and keeps me in check when I start to get crazy.
