Just some local info

With some help here I was able to find a new Amish butcher shop in Burke NY.  They are near Chataguay in northern Clinton county.

Miller & Sons, 1146 Coveytown Road.  518-483-7607

They charge $2.50 for chickens and $4-8 for turkeys

Looks like a poultry processing would be a good business to start in NY. The drive from the capital region would be about 3-4 hours. You would be up  to about 10.00 a chicken if calculated feed, processing and gas.

Thanks for the information!  I heard about this butcher but nobody seemed to know his name. Now I can get serious about raising meat birds!wee.gif

Has anyone tried them yet or gotten in contact?  I just tried calling and there was no answer.

I did get a hold of them and am taking my birds up on Wednesday  (they do chickens on Wednesdays between 8 and 12 if I remember right.)  I don't believe there is a minimum, I am taking 11 and the man I spoke to said it would take about an hour.

I forgot to ask how much it would be, not that it really matters, it needs to be done.
