Thanks, Carrie. You know, even Suede is looking for him and Zane won't fuss at the fence with the big Suedenator, LOL. Too scary! Suede runs up and down the fence when the main flock is penned up and Suede is freeranging, spoiling for a fight, but nobody comes out to fuss with him and he looks completely confused about that.

My BR roo Buster grew up with a white leghorn roo that we rehimed after they matured, and Buster grieved for about a week.

Remember, this whole wide world is still new to Zane, so I'd think he'd be overwhelmed right now.

He'll be fine, just needs time to adjust.

I hope and think he will finish his grief period soon and then turn out to be a great flock leader. Maybe he will come around when the girls start accepting him.

Thanks, Lee. I just never thought about him becoming depressed like that. Even when my SLW hen, Lacy, died, the others didn't really seem all that concerned or different, but then again, they all had each other. Hopefully, Zane will feel zippier soon. Maybe when I incorporate the going-on-16-week-old pullets into the flock, he'll perk up some, LOL.

He could probably use a vitamin supplement to give him a boost, you'd be amazed at what it will do.

Tomorrow, I'll put some AviaCharge in the gallon waterer they use when they're running around loose. Can't hurt, might help. Thanks, buddy.

Poor Zane. You know when we have a loss and are feeling blue, our dogs and cats know somethings wrong and they snuggle up to us and give us extra love. They just sit with us through the bad time. I bet Zane can feel your care too. It'll pass. Hopefully he'll be crowing soon!

Poor Zane, I sure hope he works out of the depression quickly! And I was worried about Hawkeye's girls.

Here's hoping that some younger friends to supervise will help boost his confidence. Won't hurt that they are cute little pullets! tongue
He sounds like such a great cockerel.
