I am sorry if i offend anyone.. but

Tractor Supply and Pennington Feed Supply should NOT offer chickens, ducks, or rabbits to just anyone!

This too me is very irresponsible of them half of the people that work there could care less about the animals and some of the worst people buy the animals that should never be allowed to own animals... and at my tractor supply you have a minimum of so many that you have to buy and that makes it worse... I wish they would keep a record of who buys what and how many and where they live so that they could go out and check on them and take them if they are being abused!

Sorry if this makes anyone mad .. but i just think that these places should not offer this just at easter but all the time if they are going to offer it .. because easter is just an impulse to buy the chicken and then when the child gets tired of it then what...

Sorry but it bothers me ALOT

I was going to ask why you say TS and Pennington, since Blue Seal and many others sell to "anyone" too, but I take it you mean because they are apparently only offered at easter in your area?? The TS near me offers them at all the other times that other places do.

pennington and ts are the only feed places around me... no one else no Co op no nothing...

Here in NY you have to buy a min of 6 chicks. this law will stop the impulse buyer ( or at least make them think twice) from buying cute little chicks for little Johnny and little Debbie. As for them taking names and addresses and following up on their care.....well that is an invasion of their privacy. Don't ya think?

Can't speak for everyone, but my local TSC isn't manned by the brightest
employees. These people wear name tags for a reason.

Isn't it more of people need to be aware of what they themself do? If they
buy an animal, they need to be prepared to care for it.

Yah, any fool can go into a pet store and plunk down 8 bills for a purebred dog without the employee knowing a darned thing about pet care.

Not all that much difference between that and your buck-eighty-five for a chick. It's the buyer that should be prepared. It's a NICETY when sellers provide care information.

I am very lucky with an excellent feed store to patronize.

Don't hate on animal sales on TSC... some folks depend on the easter business for $$ ;(

Not all stores or sellers or buyers are sheeple...

I got into this chickens 2 decades ago because of an impulse TSC buy.. the rest at birth...

I disagree because my animals are NOT pets, they are livestock.

Livestock is treated differently, has a different value, and is eaten if it doesn't perform as wanted/needed in a farm operation.

I just know that my tractor supply does not give a rats butt about the animals they have there they let them die and if they die just leave them in there and i you say something they get mad and threaten to kick you out...I am sure not all places are like this but this is mine and I know alot of people who buy babies at ractor supply and keep them for a bit and let them go... i just hate to see animals that could have a chance not get a chance beacuse of the people who buy them...i am not trying to make anyone mad or anything i am just talking...i guess my tractor supply is the only horrible one... they are so nasty and just could care less
