Kansas City area chicken ordinances - clarification needed

Definitely depends on the part of the metro. Independence up to 6 chickens the coop and run can be no closer than 40 feet from neighboring domiciles the chicken owner's home does not count. Also no roosters. Check your city's ordinances. Also in many area homeowner's associations have an effect. I won't live in an area that has one due to pettiness and dumb rules.

You can have up to 15 laying hens or 50 chicks under 4 months old, I guess that would be good for someone wanting to raise meat chickens. Sure wish I could keep a rooster.
