Let Mailed Eggs Rest Before Incubation?

I always let them settle for at least 12 hours and I just put mine in a bed of straw or hay lying on their side like they would be if left in a nest-box for the hen to set. Seems to me that would be the natural position for them. Definately not with the pointy end up tho! Happy Hatching!!

Hellow sirs,
I am from India. Here tempareture is 26 to 42°C. So can any one say how to store eggs before natural hatching by hen.I read it can be stored in vegitable tray of the refridgerator. Will it be right?Though the temp. is low there what about RH & ventilation.

When collecting eggs that will be incubated later - how do you care for the eggs until they go into the incubator?
I've been told to keep them in an egg carton small end down. I've been told to turn them several times a day. How do you turn an egg that is sitting in a carton? Just give it a twirl????

What I have read is to best store them where the temp is on the cool side, pointy side down, and if you could where there is bit higher humidity, as in a basement. I also saw something on here that you can put the egg carton on a stack of books on one end, so the carton is close to a 45 degree angle. I try 3 or 4 times a day to change ends. This should do the job.
