Scalding ducks? To scald or not to scald before hand plucking a duck?

Do you scald your duck before plucking, assuming you have to hand pluck?

(This came up in my other newbie processing thread, but I wanted to post it under it's own title to hopefully get some more responses and insight.)

I never plucked a tame duck, but plenty of wild ones. I did not scald them. I laid the duck in my lap, feet pointed toward me and using my thumb, I kinda rubbed the feathers off. They came off pretty easy and the yard looked like a pillow explosion.
