Very handsome rooster!!

I loved going through these pictures! I have 2 EE chicks and 1 bantam EE (among the other chicks). They are 3 weeks old now. I love that all 3 chicks are different colored so I’m curious how they will look when they’re adults! I think they look like little owls. Lol.

Your chicks are adorable! I want to get some this spring. I so far have an old RIR, 2 BPR, 8 Australorps, and 1 BO rooster.. no EES yet. I love my chickens.

Eek! It’s my first time and chicken math got me good. I wanted 6-8. I ended up with 15!!! Lol. I have BR, Astralorp, Leghorns, RIR, EE and bantam Buff Brahmas. Oh and a blue favaucana, blue splash Maran and a silver laced Wyandotte. I’m insane! Lol. But they’re so cute and growing so fast!

I know I love them. My biggest fear was them being eaten (my 4 youngest Australorps are only 4 mo old) and they were sleeping in the dirt after I let them out of the outside enclosure. Once they are out of that they free range and are basically free lol. The older hens accepted them pretty well!! I have 2 roosters both young (7 mo and 4 mo) so I want to get more pullets for them in the spring.. that' where new baby EES come into play!! I just hope I don't end up with another rooster....

We are very adamant about the coop and run being predator proof! I’d hate to lose a chicken to a predator. I’m kicking my babies to coop around the new year. I gotta expand their brooder in the garage! MPC offers sexed chicks. I have 15 supposed pullets. We’ll see if any of them are Roos here in the coming weeks. I’m excited for you to have EE babies soon!

They have always free ranged I've lost roosters, in the past rarely a hen. I like to have 2 roosters on deck just in case. All of them roost high up - some 35' into the rafters so they are smart. I am very excited to add EEs!! I've never had them before and I want to add to my hens :) All my older hens took to the younger ones very well! They only get a peck if the young ones get close enough by their food.. obviously I have 2 spots, but the babies are fast and test their luck with them lol.

I'm curious to see how they change as they age! Hopeful for you that you'll get mostly hens! :)

I think my EE is the TOP chick. Whatever she does, they others follow. She also gets first dibs on snacks. It is just amazing how much all the chicks are changing daily. I'll post some more next week when they are 4 weeks old.
