I have my rirs which are about 5-6 weeks and pound down start like nobody's business so I was searching on here and everyone's saying keep them on crumbs till six weeks and go to pellets? its just confusing beings diff states sell diff things so I have chick start-fine powder and chick crumbles which is a little bit bigger thanks for any input

Beautiful, beautiful roo!

ETA: Sorry, I was so distracted by your roo. My birds are on crumbles until they are switched over to layer pellets. And the transition to pellets was not smooth, as the ladies thought they were way too big.

crumbles tends to look like powder as when they crumble it you get a lot of dust. You should see small particles in there, at least in mine I do.

I left mine on crumbles till about 8 weeks, then went to growth, then at about 22 weeks moved to layer. Tried to move them over to pellets but my hens are choosy, they won't eat it. They like the crumbles even in layer feed so it's what they get. Pellets don't waste as much as the crumbles but you give them what they like.

Ok well the feed store calls the crumbs starter I guess cuz it's a fine powder and what they call crumbles is bigger it's kind of like a crushed cookie? Idk how to explain it I'll post pics
ok so here is the pics this is the (chic start they sell)
