any ideas for things that could help chickens lay better besides chicken feed? like other things you could feed them besides store bought feed
 
I find that mine slack off if they eat alot of stuff besides their laying crumbles. My neighbors kid fed them alot of snack one day this week and the next couple of days they were a little down on egg count.
 
A high protein dry cat or dog food can be used as a supplement or treat.
I have found that the smaller size works the best.
The kind I get is only a few bucks for a ten pound bag.
Just throw a few handfulls to them every few days.
