I have some silkies they look splash to me but a really light color base and dark spots. Anyone who knows about these please chime in and let me know what I have! Here is a pic:

Jen, from what I've read the difference is that the entire feather of a paint is black, where the tips of the splash are blue or black.

I don't have splash to compare but the entire feather thing is true. I just checked my boys. One other thing about paints at this point, they have a champagne off color. Its especially noticeable in the males. I just found out that it is appearing in some females.

AHHHH I see! Thank you...Then I have all splash in different shades of coloration.

very pale base colors. the 2nd one who has the nearly white base color has darker splashes. I checked on the Amer Silkie Bantam Club site, splashes have wide range of dark to light. Plus I think the paints havent' quite reached the same level of type/fluff/crest as splashes.

They are splash. Paint kind of look like dalmations. It is due to holes in the skin pigment, that let whatever color the white is hiding come through, which is usually black. Though there are some red paints around, too.

Here are some pictures of my paints:

Also some pictures of a splash boy of mine that looks like a paint almost because he is almost a white with the spots:
