Got my BBS Rocks from halo. You might try her for hatching eggs.

A few more pics from today, also including a few D'Anvers.

20 Weeks now. Crowing. Trying to mate on occasion, but with the EEs, silly boy.

Oh, Cyn!! As always they're so pretty!! love Your Buff Orp girls and that your Splash Rock pullet are just breath taking! What breeder did you hatch them from? I recently lost 11 Buff/Black Orps to the heat and I need to get some Black and Buff Orp boys for my 7 remaining hens.

Aspen, I'm so sorry! This has been the most brutal summer I've ever seen. So many have lost birds! hinkjc is the person for Buff Orpingtons, for sure. Wouldn't get mine anywhere else. halo is who you go to for the BBS Rocks. I also have two blues and a black from her, but they are older girls, great layers and all very sweet.

All the orps I lost were from Jody. A breeder friend of mine bought day-old chicks from them. He sold them to me for $10.00 apiece. I'm just sick at my loss.

I PM'd halo. I hope to get some eggs from Kathy sometime. Her birds sure are pretty! love

That's terrible! I just love Jody's buffs. My Gracie was having a hard time last night in the heat last night, breathing so hard and making this "uh, uh, uh" sound with every breath, and I brought her in to cool her down for a bit. She was sitting in my lap and I was marveling at her gorgeous golden color. She's fine, btw, just didn't get water before the older hens trapped her up on the roost. These buffs are the most beautiful shade of gold. Hope is larger than Gracie, just huge, but both are big girls. My Nugget is also from Jody; she is over three years old, best broody on the planet, keeps the babies till they are old enough to mate her, LOL. I specifically wanted more like my Nuggs.

I still have three of the Buffs from Jody, all three are pullets. Both of the boys died. I'm really looking forward to see how they mature! I know! HS Buffs are trash compared to the Jody Buffs! lovebow

Adding a few more. Details of Rex's back-someone was here yesterday and said the pattern was so crisp that it almost hurts your eyes to look at it, and I have to admit, sometimes, it does! They'll be 21 weeks this coming Wednesday. The BRs are investigating the nests and Shelby, the Olive Egger is squatting now. Rex is chasing the girls a bit and crowing (if you can call it that, LOL). That's Wynette, checking out the nests in the last photo. I can tell Ida by the one small solid black feather in her chest area, but she's humongous so it's not hard to tell her from the others anyway.

Very nice Cyn.

I've got the chick itch real bad.  Just eight more days to go before my broody Jethro satisfies that itch for me.  big_smile
