Something is very wrong with this world.

I remember my mother constantly feeding me worm medication because I liked to share (cat) food with the barn cats as a child.  My sister used to sleep with chickens in her bed at night.  I guess we should have been taken away and put in a foster homes?

I hope they leave you alone and make it over to my neighbor's house soon.

Good luck.

Oh my God the worm medicine! I got garlic juice as my mom found out that it worked better than the medicine that was available in the 50's. But do you know, I LOVE garlic. You'd think I'd hate it after slurping so many spoonfuls of that horrible juice. I mean we only got a teaspoon a dose but I think altogether I probably had to drink a gallon of the stuff. Guess I should have been in a foster home too.

Love those Orps!

I don't care why the chicken crossed the road, as long as mine don't!

Sorry to hear about this whole incident. I have three kids and my wife is do in mid-may with our fourth. We live in a two bedroom apartment. As soon as you start cleaning the mess follows right behind. We are trying to be better, but seeing your place makes me really ashamed because I would pay to have my apartment that clean. Good luck. We are praying for you.

On a side note, about 6 months ago I went to Boise to see if it would be a good place to move to. Beautiful city and very friendly people. We are still stuck in California. smile

somad So sad to read about your troubles. How scary is it that bullies disguised as policemen are running around out there. Idiots w guns. And there are far too many out there. I would make it my mission to get them fired and to make your ex suffer as much as humanly possible.

Give those bullies the link to this sight, we'll take care of them !   somad

Did they come back today?

Reading this thread today made me realize that because I had paramedics on my home last week, and if they took a glance and a sniff towards the chicks brooder coop two steps away, I too could get in trouble.

Tomorrow I'm heading into town for an EEG for my kid, and on the way, I'm stopping for a large pack of those small spiral top-bound notebooks. Gonna record everything, like seizures, phone calls, meds, etc. And witnesses to anything note-worthy. Because, although I live way out in the country, chances are my special-needs kid could bring CPS to OUR doorstep. And we have 70+ chicks/chickens and 4 goats!

Keep us posted.

Working with 2 sandy acres on the Colorado plains, 4 mini goats, 35+ various chickens, 1 service dog for my 15 yo teen (autism and epilepsy) and Hubby. LOOKING FOR PYGMY BUCK FROM GOOD DAIRY LINES.  http://vikkisverandah.blogspot.com (2 nigerian dwarf goats to kid end of Nov 2011)

LOL @ Chihuahuamom444 . Right?! Just makes me sick to my stomach. And remember most cell phones now have a record feature. Use it. My son uses his against his sister when they're fighting. Pretty effective I must say.

Maybe CPS should get involved with parents who's children watch TV 24/7 and eat nothing but white bread, soda, and hot dogs, since heart disease is the number one killer of Americans. Or wait actually, this just in. Vicious flesh eating poop disease sweeping the nation. Attributed to back yard chickens. (But not crows, songbirds, vultures, seagulls, canada geese, migratory fowl etc. Those birds can poop everywhere and it's ok)

Funny how if it was a bathroom full of a litter of puppies no one would give it a second thought.

Lawyer up!  Don't talk to anyone  or do anything without a lawyer.  No one comes into the house without a warrant.

Best of luck.

I absolutely agree with this.  They also cannot interview your daughter out of your presence without a warrant. You just turn them away politely while asking for the warrant as you have your attorney on the phone.

Actually, this is very untrue.

They can and will, if they "feel" there is an issue. I speak from experience

Yep.. they dont need a warrant...
Not in my state anyways...

LOL I got salt water gargles and soda water tonics :p

I also got switches to the butt by Grandma and every now and then a leather belt by my momma too. I never spank my daughter personally. I know with some parents and children spanking can be an effective discipline measure. It wouldn't work for me or Madi. I didn't like the spanking and it was probably considered abuse, but it was common in the 80s in the midwest to discipline that way. I've had neighbors call because of my screams and wails as a kid begging not to get spanked (I was a bit melodramatic then, I screamed before I even got a swat) the police came and saw me and said, yup well some kids just need a good spanking. LOL The craziness we live in I tell yah. I can't imagine how that was ok but chickens in the bathroom weren't. And to be honest I think my room was probably a mess then too.

Anyway, I stayed up an extra 3 hours last night cleaning my house top to bottom. I organized my work room (project room where I am painting cabinet doors, working on furniture, stuff for the house, etc) I cleaned up my daughter's room and sorted out the boxes she had dug into. I cleaned the storage room up where the cat box was. It wasn't dirty really. It's a storage room so the floor is just concrete with a couple windows in the basement. I have a cut out in the door for the kitties to go in. I keep the paint cans, big tools, and pet food bags in there. It's the most out of way place for a cat box. So I put completely brand new litter in the box. I found one little turd in there. I wonder if a kitty is constipated or of the other one that keeps going outside has been doing his business in the wild?

I swept the bits of sawdust from the bedding pellets in the cat box that they kicked out.  Um, I swept my entire house pretty much. I leave a broom and dustpan on each floor of the house in a closet with a trashcan and extra bags for spontaneous cleaning. So I just swept everything. I couldn't find anything else to do so I shoved all my laundry baskets in my car to take to the laundrymat. I didn't have time Saturday or Sunday cause the kiddo foot issue. Today I went and got the coop so tomorrow looks like my bi-weekly laundromat visit.

I wash clothes at home by hand and hang them on the line to dry on sunny days. But every other week I take all the dirty clothes and all the bedding to be washed. I only hand-wash a few items at a time to hang up. I have a very inefficient line since I have 2 tiny trees that are very short and wimpy. I need to get some posts to build a real line.

Anyway, I'm over tired from today. I'm rambling. I realized that I don't have to let them in without a warrant. I never signed anything last time agreeing to it. So if they come back I'll politely tell them that I don't have time for a visit today but if they get a warrant I'll be happy to have my attorney here for a grand tour. Also, I have chickens in my bathroom again!!! I'm a rebel! I have my 2 Brahma girls back. They grew so much in just 3 days! I also have my 2 baby silver-laced wyandottes (1 week) and a 1 week black sex-link chick too. I'm picking up the last 3 tomorrow. 3 Black Jersey Giants. I'll be able to go hide the brooder boxes for the 10 minute visit if they show up. I have a spot upstairs in my room, which they didn't inspect, that I could keep them safe from my other pets.

I'm working on the coop and run tomorrow. My daughter can't help much because of her foot being fractured, but when she gets home I'm hoping to have it sanded and ready to paint so she can start that. She's excited! Oh and to piss everyone off she got a bunny that is litter box trained, leash trained, and will go inside and outside the house with you. Yup, a bunny litter box. Just wait until they see THAT.

This is correct on both accounts. Some states require a warrant, other's do not require a warrant at all. All, however, have to honor the individual rights of the child if they do not wish to speak to them without their parent or attorney. I've been training Madi the last few days if anyone wants to discuss things with her that isn't comfortable questions or isn't someone she knows, then she needs to just tell them that she does not want to speak without her mother or attorney present. If they persist keep repeating it. Eventually they will have to call me if they want to get anything out of her. She's almost 10 so she can't be suckered as easily. Plus she's super smart and she really doesn't like CPS now.
