Chickens carry tons of diseases... (CPS alert!)

Yeah, my daughter is nearly 10 years old. We both figure the best thing we can do with ANY animal is wash our hands. Don't let them put anything in your mouth. No paws, no well meant beaks to the tongue... LOL nothing. I know that sounds weird but we all have pets that think our mouth needs to be touched in some way. Today, one of the Brahma girls was sitting on Mad's shoulder and she pecked at her lip and her nose cause there was a booger. LOL LOL LOL!!!! Ok it was really funny but gross.

That phone call was funny. You know I don't necessarily enjoy a lot of animals that people keep for pets, but I certainly don't go judging them for their choices either.

Now this is 2 asbergers in the same thread. Now 3.....my 16 yr old grandson has asbergers and for some reason I thought it was rare. guess not.... if anyone pulled my grandson out of class, it would upset him greatly and have a big impact on what he could absorb during the rest of the day at school. IMO caring for an animal is one of the best things you can have a kid with this kind of disability do.

Absolutely! My daughter has worked really really really hard to fit in with her classmates. She has finally made friends and she absolutely doesn't want to do anything that would make her look less 'normal'. We've had a lot of discussions about what 'normal' is and that it's 100% ok to be yourself and enjoy who you are. We also have had a lot of talks about how as much as we love who we are we have to let others get to know little bits of us at a time so they can see how awesome we are instead of scare them off. She gets it after a lot of work on the area of friends. She still makes mistakes and has had some mishaps with girls at school where she has been really upset by things said or done. Nothing other kids wouldn't go through really, she just has to make extra effort to fit in socially so it really bothers her when stuff like that happens.

Meow, you go girl! Dang its about time someone stood up for themselves and the kids besides me. Love to hear this. Yes we have PLENTY of Neglect and some abuse in this country of children. However...there is a better system out there, but nobody wants to use their time to try to find out how to change the system. Hallelujah!

Seems to me you are doing right.

I contracted Hystoplasmosis(Dismented) from a group of Turkey poults in 2005. It caused me to be in intensive care for a week, liver and kidneys shut down....I even suffered some permanant damage from the ordeal. You can never be to safe but you still have to live the life you want to live!

Two Creeks, wow, what is that poult disease and how did you contract it? I don't have any poults. I did long time ago and friends do, so this would be something to go into further detail here. Such as are they natural carriers, what did you come in contact with to get it, symptoms, etc? Thanks!

Wow!

Eta. Make sure you call on monday and tell them you havent heard from her and then give them an alternative time you ll be home. Make it aweful hours for her like 530 till 7 PM ( dinner time when she should be off work) or 7 till 830 AM so she has to get up early or make it on her lunch hour. But make sure you call! That way you have a phone record that you tried to contact her AND give them times so they cant say you "refused" to meet with her or were "uncooperative"

Not to knock all caseworkers, but my friend dealt with CPS(me too) and it seemed rather silly they kept the case open. In her case it seemed as if the caseworker prefered to go to her nice neighborhood rather then spend his days down in the ghetto-like areas.

You home does not seem bad. Sometimes you will get caseworkers on a power trip. You have to figure out if you can satisfy them somehow,or if you will need a lawyer and record every contact. Hard to say which way to go when you are going through it.

I just read your contact with the worker(as you were leaving). That was SWEET. Funny she poined out the intimidation, but most do try to intimidate families when they come to invesigate. They let it be known during the visit they can *take* your child right then and there. Went through it when I was reported following a homebirth, and they claimed my baby never saw a doctor(she did).

Shame on that EX.He harms the child far more than he does you.
