Waterfowl Only Egg Swap!

SWAP RULES - This list is subject to change so please check back periodically.

***#1 RULE***
The person who just offered eggs up gets first dibs on the persons eggs. For example lets say Joe Bob just offered two sebbie eggs. And then Billy Bob comes along and says that he wants them and then he offers two mallard eggs. Joe has the first choice of those eggs. And until he finds something he wants, he get first dibs on any eggs. That way, we can keep the chain moving but at the same time, we can track who is getting what and who is still owed eggs. The chain cannot move on until the person who is owed eggs either passes on the current offer or takes them.

Anything longer than 24 hours without a response will be automatically moved along.

1. EGGS MUST BE PUREBRED!

2. The eggs MUST be from waterfowl (i.e. ducks, geese, exotic waterfowl is welcome, but please check to see if permits are required before getting anything too wild & crazy!)

3. If eggs are from mixed colors, please note color combinations and possible outcomes.

4. Minimum of 2-4 eggs. This is because some geese are not that great of layers and neither are some ducks! If you would like to offer more, that would be fine too but please be able to back up that offer with fresh eggs.

5.To qualify for accepting an offer, you need to post what you are offering in return in the same post.

6. When each trade is posted, please pm or email the person who offered the eggs and work out the shipping arrangements and do not do so on the thread. This will cause confusion, clog the thread and get us all off topic.

7. The person sending the eggs pays the shipping costs.

8. When eggs are mailed, swapper needs to send a courtesy email to the swappee to let them know that the eggs are on their way and please include a tracking or shipping number as well.

9. All waterfowl breeds of poultry are welcome in the swap.  If you are not sure whether your breed is acceptable, post it and group interest will decide if it is allowed.

10. Please offer eggs that you will have available to ship within two weeks of offering!

If you only have a pair and especially if the breed doesn't lay well, combine two waterfowl breeds.

If the thread stalls for 24 hours, try changing your offer.

If combining different breeds and dates, write in pencil the date collected and breed.

Side trades are welcome but please use PMs to avoid confusion.

Now, someone else takes these and then offers something of theirs as a trade...I can pass or take their offer. If I pass--it's open to anyone but I will be first on the list for eggs until I find something I like. This continues down the line. Please try to keep track of your offer and who has first "dibs" on the next offer. I will do the same....

This is a really good idea but I dont need scovies.  I have some silver appleyard (LF) and some call duck babies.  I am going to set more call eggs tonight.  I hope this thread does well.

Only one question.....is this thread for swapping or auctions?  The title said swap but your listing is auction style....could you please clarify?

Awesome! I will pass on these for now. I had Cayugas for a couple years. They are very hardy ducks! smile

so if I understand this right, anyone else can now take the cayugas eggs since you passed . what ever is offered, you have first choice. so if you take these, we start all over with a new opening offer-correct?
