Waterfowl Only Egg Swap! - Page 25

Sorry for being silent for so long. I was not sure what I could say. A predator managed to get about half of my ducks, and the rest pretty much stopped laying. There was one community nest that a duck started setting and then managed to ruin it.  I put the eggs into an incubator, but very few survived.

Now, the predator situation is partially resolved, and the ducks are starting to lay again.  A few days ago I found a nest of 7 duck eggs that a banty hen is setting so I will see how those develop.  And this morning there were 4 nice eggs in a nest.

So I feel confident I can now follow through properly with this swap.  I will offer the 4 + what is available muscovy duck eggs.  The geese have stopped laying.  I really do not think they will start again now after the predator situation and this late in the spring.

OK... I'm confused hmm.png... Chickies_Duckies, did you take Bee's offer on the Ancona's?  Also, the minimum offer is 6+ eggs.  If you haven't recieved eggs from Bee then she has the current offer.

minimum 6 eggs on the chicken swaps, not the others.

copied from the 1st post about the rules:
4. Minimum of 2-4 eggs. This is because some geese are not that great of layers and neither are some ducks! If you would like to offer more, that would be fine too but please be able to back up that offer with fresh eggs.

So what to offer?

Muscovy eggs........ I have lots of them.  Mostly black pied with some chocolate pied and some have barred pattern.

OR mixed goose eggs.  White and brown chinese and emden.  Eggs could be pure or mixed.

Now, off to read the rules  LOL

I accepted Bee's offer of the Ancona eggs.  She sent 6 beautiful eggs that are in the incubator.

I read the rules and they said 4 duck eggs.  I am offering 4 + muscovy eggs.  The geese have stopped laying.

Sorry for any confusion...

I don't have any of layIng age yet... Or I would have been all over the Ancona eggs (g) Hopefully in a couple more months I'll have something but I won't swear to it.... Come fall I hope to be all over this thread (g)

I'm a Dog trainer... I do Dog Agility... then I got the crazy idea to try herding so I've gotten ducks and some chicks for eggs... and now I may end up doing shows with them too... yes... I have lost my mind.

Oh and did I mention I do vehicle decals (right now it's mostly dog designs) and lettering... and Tshirt's and coaster sets and decorative tiles... hey I've been out of a regular job...
