AHA! So ya found her, yay! LOL @ her stealing the new guy! What a hussy! She should come back to the flock, especially now that there are males, but that doesn't mean she will... lol you just never know with Guineas. She may have gotten a "quickie" from George and soon her new quest will be to find a new place to go lay FERTILE eggs, lol. If she doesn't come back to the coop tonight to roost with the other Guineas and the chickens, I'd go check that nest. If she is sitting on it you might be able to grab her in the dark, but be ready for an explosion. I usually push my Hens to the ground with both hands until I am sure I have a good grip on the body and wings, then I pick them up and carry them under my arm like a football (watch out for her pecking you). If you catch her, I'd lock her butt in the coop... but make sure there's not a big Guinea brawl going on after you do. I'd also make sure you destroy the nest, because she may lay there again, unless that's ok with you that she lays there...

She is SUCH a hussy - she's gone back to where her nest was, she has to duck under a chain link fence at the front of the property to do so - poor George is screaming at her as he can't figure out how to get over the fence, let alone figure out that there is a gap in bottom! I don't think George is the brightest guinea in the pack lol

Thanks for the advice about getting her this evening, I've already amused one neighbour by flapping my arms around trying to encourage Hussy back to the coop area.................

Now I really should get on with some other tasks around here, the guineas have taken all my time up this afternoon!

I'll let you know what happens this evening........smile

Whisper - caught George having a quickie this afternoon.......................not with the Hussy either! Perhaps George ain't so daft after all lol

George is turning into a bit of a superstar, the Dish Network guy turned up this evening - we have NO TV - PANIC, only 2 days to go before the Royal Wedding sad When the guy drove his truck in, George rushed over towards the truck, feathers all of a ruffle screeching very loudly which of course set all the others off! Poor Dish guy looked scared to get out of the truck!

Fingers crossed, George and his girls have all stuck together the past few hours.....................but the new white hen that is still incarcerated is very upset, she is walking non-stop up and down the perch in their run. I guess George was her mate?

i had a guinea when i was young , got it from a feed store as a 3 day old , wow was it ever tame !!!!

LOL wow, George is definitely coming into his own isn't he. It's possible the White Hen and George were a pair, but it seems like he'd be hanging closer to her instead of with his new girls if he was. She is probably just frustrated about being penned up and wants to be with the flock. She'll just have to get over it tho. Of course they are your birds and you can  turn them loose whenever you want, but I wouldn't want to risk it being too soon... Aren't Guineas fun, lol.

Yikes, hope ya get the satellite fixed! One year my Guineas knocked my dish out of alignment using it as a launch pad from the roof, dang birds lol.

LOL Peeps, thats too funny about your satellite dish! Turns out that 'someone' (hubby) drove over the cable from the dish to where it comes in the house on the lawnmower, he is not going to be allowed to forget that in a hurry hide

So tonight, I go out to shut the coop up - and there are the 3 chicken girls in there and one guinea.....................shine the torch up into the big tree above the coop (summer roosting spot for the guineas) and there are three up there sitting together. Knowing George, its probably him in the coop tucked up safely (didn't inspect closely to see who it was and George is the same colour as one of the girls) - BUT at least the Hussy is up in the tree and not sat on her non-existent nest!

I hate seeing the white one so pacey and upset, she must have walked miles today, I might, just might let her out tomorrow, I'll see how she is in the morning.

Well thanks for the laughs today, happy night night to all. And yes, guineas are so much fun!

Whitey and George might "fly the coop" together if you let her out, so just be prepared to lose them both, because it might happen. Besides the fact that White birds are predator beacons, neither of Whitey or George know or understand where home is or even know your voice yet, so if they wander off, they don't have a clue where to come back to. I  think you got lucky with George sticking around so far because he has no real bond with your Hens yet and has no one to wander off with, since the others are penned and your Hens all stay home (well except for Loner, and he would have left with her if he could have figured out the fence!). It takes weeks to imprint "home" into their little pea brains.

I tend to think a pacing White Hen is better than no White Hen at all... JMO tho hu

Peeps - I'm going to take your advice as you know way more than me about the screechers, and leave Ms Whitey in the pen and ignore her pacing. I'd be devastated if George left now! And yes, I think I did get lucky yesterday with George, I did see him with the Hussy over by her nest on the other side of the fence at one time, but I went and shooed him back - and it was thanks to George that I found that nest :lol:He has found his way into my heart already........

I didn't realize that white ones were predator becons - YIKES!
