So they are going against what the person that they have rule on the regulations ? She should go to the court house and file a temporary restraining order. T.R.O's are not hard to file and will stop the county from doing anything. Even contact the "judge" that ruled in her favor earlier. And then fight this new ruling.

Maybe we should get someone with a dump truck to dump a ton of poop on their porches. This is rediculous! I'll help you clobber her if she even thinks about selling the broom rider a single egg. She needs to tell her she doesn't get enough since the roos are gone. They sound like ignorant slobs anyway, so they'd probably believe it.

And what Dennis said!

Well the "judges" and "courts" have yet to got involved.  This is all (so far) code enforcement, county agencies, etc.

I agree that they are harrassing her.  But what's she gonna do, sell her property and move?

Everything will be all right in the end.  Sometimes, we cannot see solutions that are just around the corner.  I am sure that some how, because Linda has created so much good karma with just her big heart and her kindness and just being Linda, SOME HOW, this has to all work out in the end in her favor, for her happiness.  Nobody I know deserves that happiness, peace, and contentment more than Linda.

Unbelievable! And finding that the one person she thought was her friend is involved has to just devastate her!

Linda, when you feel like posting or just reading, I'm so sorry for all this. I know you want to be a good neighbor and it sucks to find out your neighbors don't have the same goal!

All I'll say is that the best defense is a good offense. EVERY code in the county that is not enforced in that n'hood would be plastered on their door for immediate enforcement. But, that's me. Linda has to figure out if she can live in this neighborhood now, with the animosity they seem to hold toward her now. Astounding, isn't it? They think they can make someone's life a living torture, then have a neighborly relationship afterward. Boggles the mind, it really does.

It's really become legally sanctioned harassment now and she needs an attorney.

ETA: Linda is very fortunate to have such a great support system living close by.

I might be tempted to do a few drive-bys in the neighborhood and look for code violations at some other houses - certain other houses in particular.  And I hope it is just a few bad apples, sounds like most of the neighbors are not complaining?

How about a billboard with the retro flyer that Nifty posted, plastered on it. You know. Remind them that chickens aren't just birds that lay your breakfast but that it's down right anti American to not keep them themselves.

Did these people lowball an offer on that place and then decide to harrass whom ever DID get it? I like the driveby thing. Although I would probably be hit with them here, I have this need to go to the next couple of city transition meetings and follow the 2 busy bodies home, so I have ammo if they attack those of us with chickens.  I'm watching, learning and trying to figure out a strategy here Linda. Maybe while I'm fighting I can come up with some ideas for you. I hope.

I am so sorry Linda.

I would be gathering every receipt and check I had written for improvements, add your medical bills because you know stress is a player in fibro and asking your real estate agent for her "errs and omissions" insurance carrier info.   Because you would not have bought that house on that land and made all of the improvements if you knew in advance you would have had these issues.  Maybe she can find you a house with more acreage (and sane neighbors) that is move in ready for you.

Should you decide to stay, I would not sell an egg to anyone that was not marked hatching only.  I would also look in to trees to screen the offending neighbors view of your place.

And I would hire a real estate attorney (probably first thing I would do) to represent your interests, hopefully his bill can be added to your claim against the agents insurance carrier.

Linda, I know that you have been trying to be the "good neighbor" by going above and beyond what was asked at the end of the last hearing.  I also know that you have been trying to be "nice" to the real estate agency by not filing a legal suit against them.  I know that you are just trying to live happily on your property with all your pets.  I have to say that I am in agreement with Carols Clucks, it might be time to at least consult with an attorney to find out the real estate agent's liability and/or how/if you can stay where you are with ALL of your pets.  It might be time to not be so nice.  So sorry that you are going through this.  It is just not fair.  hugs.gif hugs.gif

ETA - you would think that all of the rest of the neighbors would be backing you up 100% considering what was probably going on with that property before you bought it!  You would think that they would want to be trying to keep such a great neighbor who is doing so much to fix up the property and in doing that bringing up the worth of everyone's property in the neighborhood!
