black shoulder X IB - Page 2

Okay then, I always thought those birds looked pretty with more black, I just thought it was a variant thing but now I know it means they are split to blackshoulder. That is really cool!

10 peafowl: 1 India Blue, 1 blackshoulder, 1 pied, 4 splits (pied or white), 3 whites.
Wanted: Pure Indo-Chinese (Imperator) peafowl, I also want a new pen!
Proud to be Native American and happy to have wonderful family & friends.

It is hard to say, but I would get him an India blue hen because I am guessing he isn't split.

Hate to tell you that you are all wrong, except for kedreeva, a bird carrying black shoulder is absolutely identical to a bird without the gene. Whites and pieds have a few white feathers because white traits are semi dominant. The black on the wings occurs on all India Blues, yes it can grow larger as they age but that does not make them split black shoulder.

SuperPeacockman
When did you become a expert on genetic you don't even know how to raise peafowl you are the one that wrong the blackshoulder gene will show on split to blackshoulder birds.

I have a question, is there any way that it could show on peahens, or is this just something you can see in the peacocks?
