I had a blast and it went very smoothly for me and mom.  I sold 8 birds and 2 chicken harnesses total and I only came home with 4 chickens and 1 parakeet, So I actually came home with less than I arrived with!!!!

The chickens i cam home with were 2 Cubalaya pullets, 1 rediculously adorable Buff silkie chick, and the Blue Faverolle/andalusian roo from Peacedove. I also came home with Silkie chicken's Parakeet!

I have named the Faverolle roo Lefty, because of his strange toes. One foot has 5 toes and the other has 4 toes. He is very sweet and since I was right next to Peacedove all day staring at his cute face it was just inevitable that he would come home with me. I love him to pieces already and I think he likes it here. He took the world's longest dirt bath yesterday when I let him out to play. He is so pretty and very sweet!love

On the way home we stopped for sodas at a gas station and mom found an ad on CL about a woman looking for 2 bantam hens for her 88 year old father in law's birthday. Since we were going that way anyway I called her and we met at Jerry's. I've been told that the man loved his hens very much. They were my two black cochin pullets.

I am so glad you were able to take him.  He turned out to be way sweeter than I ever would have guessed. (As babies from day 1 he and his sister were wild run away chicks that would freak out any time I came into their pen.) I enjoyed bringing him out and showing him off.

Soooo....

Might any of you know where I might find a nice buff rock rooster/cockeral?
I am heading to Seattle on the 10th-13th, so if I can find one between here and there in the next 2 weeks (preferably along I5) I could pick him up on my way home.
I am working on a breeding project and need a big, dual purpose, light colored roo who will be faster maturing than my buff orps. Because rock is not my end goal, I don't care what the quality of the rooster is. To suit my needs he just has to be big, buff, and being good tempered would be a plus too. A young one would be fine since he won't be breeding till spring, and I could even be fine with a few straight run chicks or hatching eggs. I wouldn't mind having hens too, I just figure the rooster is the thing I need most that most people need to get rid of!

3 Adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs, 1 bunny, 1 cat, thousands of bees, and chickens: Gold laced, Blue Laced Red, and Columbian Wyandottes (5), Buff Orp (1), Alohas (8 keepers, 5 to cull), Speckled Sussexes (4), EE's (2), a Barred Rock, mutts (2), and some chicks!!!

Posting this as you guys are around the PNW and he could be picked up at the Feather Fanciers show.  He's a very nicely tempered, very fertile, bird.
I have posted for sale a Wyandotte cock that I traded for from Christine (she raises and shows SLW, Buff silkies, etc) from Oregon.  I have found another cock that is more closely related to my flock for line breeding.  This bird came from the Foleys originally.  He is about 1.5 years I believe, and his fertility is very high.
I wanted to let you guys know because it would be nice for him to stay in the NW.

The eggs were pretty good size, so I'm guessing LF. It is a cutie (and already spoiled!) I had an appointment this morning, and I took baby chick with me.lol My hubby thinks I'm nuts! Just put the little guy in my purse (with a tiny blanket), and went on my way! My Doc loved it! She is about as nutty as I am! tongue

Just curious - other than Seramas and Silkies (I KNOW where to go for those)
What interesting Bantam chicks will be available around Oregon this spring?big_smile

Bantams - Henny& Penny - Black Araucanas, Amber & Jade - Partridge Silkies, Pearl - White Wyandotte, Riva - Barred Rock, Phyllis, WCB Polish.  Maggie Mae - Old Mutt dog, Wilbur the pot bellied pig. Now, what kind of ducks do I need????
