Severely injured chick - Page 3

Thank you, thank you. It does not make sense to peel a scab. I know we're not supposed to peel our own scabs, so why would I peel hers? I will see what I can find at the feed store. And I will see if I can help her stretch.

I agree for the most part, but I think the logic to removing the scab is that you want the wound to heal from the inside out - otherwise you get general infection.

I will chime in with likely a 'seriously useless' bit of information but we veterinarians as well as our human counterparts can lose our license to practice by prescribing medication without seeing a patient or having a 'valid client-patient relationship'.  Not to mention prescribing an incorrect drug or dosage.
