No Shoes...

You found a better price on EBay then I did.

I paid $12.88 for six plus $5.35 for shipping....  Don't know how I missed your supplier... good for you!yippiechickie

All 'children' have fur or feathers.. two dozen chickens, guineas, dogs, cats and burros.  Also a retired husband who is handy around the place and fun to be home with.  If I had ocean front property I'd have it all!

Education is thus a most powerful ally of humanism, every American school is a school of humanism. What can a theistic Sunday school's meeting for an hour once a week & teaching only a fraction of the children do to stem the tide of the five-day program of humanistic teaching?" - Charles F. So did you figure out what the problem was?  The lids you used that worked fine.... were they hard plastic, like the top of a plastic pop bottle?  I would think you'd have drilled a hole, then... right?

I had them installed in a 2' section of 1" pvc.  They were the screw in kind.  I used teflon tape, nut driver and installed carefully yet firmly.  I had a 2' vertical piece of pipe installed on one end, the other was capped.  I was planning to use this in my brooder after a test.
They leaked alot thru the nipple.  I watched carefully and applied a tissue to the sides of the nipple at the pvc.  Dry, the water was leaking thru the nipple.  Maybe not enough water pressure to seal?  I installed two of them into large juice bottle lids.  They leaked and now have stopped.  2 weeks later.  I have puchased the pushin type and will installe them into the coop (when completed).  More later.
PS the chicks love them and they are great, now!
