Hello, my name is Andrew Klunk and I am a small animal veterinarian. I love to garden, raise animals, hunt, and ride ATV's. The fowl that I raise are black rock bantams and black runner ducks.

I have been waiting for one of these! I am a dweeb when it comes to posting pictures. each time is like I have never done it before. be patient, and I will be back!
I guess the 'grand day out'...or 'the great escape', are still on the camera.
I will post when I get that downloaded...and I find the cameras... roll

I finally found the cameras and I managed to get the boy to find the cables... grr.. computers.

I am getting my first Buff's on May 24. I can't wait to get them and watch them grow up!

How old do BO's need to be to determine sex?  Is it all about the comb and waddles?

You can usually tell their gender around 6 weeks old by the males getting redder combs and showing wattle development.  The girls tend to stay pretty pale until almost point of lay.

Breeds: Lavender, Buff, Black and White Orpington & Tufted Rumpless Araucana (lavender, white and nonstandard colors)

I consider Buff Orpingtons to be the superior homesteading chicken. I love how well they lay, their massive size, and their broodiness!! Go Buffs!

Sex is determined by wattlles and combs usually by 6 weeks of age.
