Hello, I am new here and thinking to buy 2 pairs of pigeons. My parents asked me to buy some pigeons for eggs, as they believe pigeon eggs are much better than other eggs. Can anybody tell me which breed is a good egg layer comparing to other pigeon breeds? And where I can buy them online? I know it sound strange, as many of you raise them for racing or flying. If any of you want to sell your pigeons and ship them, PM me the price and shipping fees. Thank you.

I am noy sure of any breed that lays more than another.I raise picas, witch are a sporting pouter. They are a medium sized bird full of passion. Each pica has its on personalty. They also lay larger eggs than other pigeons. I have a pair of red mottleds for sale now. I will ship if needed. PM me for prices.

All pigeons only lay two eggs at a time. You'll probably get 4 eggs a month max, if you take proper care and let them incubate fake eggs for a little while to rebuild the hen's calcium supply. They are definitely not like chickens. Even the largest breed, the Giant Runt, lays the same size egg as any other pigeon. Tiny breeds like Figs may lay a bit smaller egg but not by much. Pigeon eggs in general are already smaller than bantam chicken eggs (or at least they are smaller than my bantam's eggs. They are a little more...pointy I guess you'd say? than chicken eggs. My banties lay little fat squatty eggs).
