Broody Hen Thread! - Page 52

Why don't y'all use a wormer med without a withdrawl period? I use Eprinex Pour on and it's fantastic, no withdrawl period and the bottle ($40) will last near a lifetime because the dosage for chickens is so small.

What is the dosage for a chicken?

If Timmy had a German Shepherd he wouldn't have been in the well in the first place.

Ameraucanas, FBCMs, BOs, BLRW, EEs, bantam Cochins, Black Australorps, Speckled Sussex, Rhode Island Reds, White leghorns, and Bobwhite Quail.   1 Beagle, 2 German Shepherd Dogs, 1 cat, lots of honeybees,  2 grown daughters and a very handy and understanding husband!

For large fowl, 1/2cc. For bantam, 1/4cc. You put it on their neck like Advantage for Cats/Dogs. It gets rid of internal and external parasites and worms. Awesomesauce.

Expecting our eggs to hatch in 2 days. We're down to 4 eggs from the dozen due to a bossy Araucana trying to share the nest :(

Really hoping they all hatch! I think what's left are a Faverolle, a Barneveldor, a Light Sussex and a Coronation Sussex.

Well, its been 70 or so degrees here in my neck of the woods the past couple of days and I think one of my hens has gotten bit by the broody bug! My Silkie Tina laid an egg this morning and then got in the empty nest box beside where the eggs were and has stayed there all day. I stuck my hand under her to see if she had any eggs, and there were none, but she immediately did the broody shuffle (on my hand) and grumbled when I disturbed her. If she stays there all day tomorrow, I'll collect the eggs for the day, add them to the ones I was collecting for my incubator and give them to her smile.pngfl.gif she sticks to her nest and wants some chickies!!!

Just wondering...? If I isolate my once broody then give her some eggs do you think she will go broody again? I am wanting to see if she will hatch any eggs. She was broody all winter long, just recently she stopped "brooding". So should I have any luck?

I have hatching eggs available in many different breeds (waterfowl, turkey's, quail, some peafowl) they are varied BUT pure. Need to give me a few days to get fresh eggs.
I also have hatching eggs from my layer flock that are made up of many different breeds.
I ship please specify which method you prefer.
Chicks are $3.00 each-LOCAL PICK UP ONLY.
