Saw it on the yahoo group pastured poultry. Went to the web site, www.freedomrangers.net it is posted there also.

If you have any you might think of keeping some to see if they will breed close to true.

corrected web address to .net not .com

I thought this was a wonderful progressive idea...and I had just heard it, and was thinking about it for my 4 acres.
I am sorry to hear they are closing....any contact them about who might step up for the breeding?

Greyfields,

Since you are the resident Freedom Ranger expert maybe you can offer
some of your crosses for sale in there place. Chicks or eggs would be
fine.

It's too bad they are out.I wanted to try them but with a minimum of fifty,I was alittle reluctant. They really got alot of exposure from this board.
I hope if someone picks up where they left off, they target the smaller flock owners.I think a business could do well getting more smaller orders than trying to sell fewer larger orders.I believe that's why many hatcheries went to a 15 minimum instead of 25.
I'd love to know with almost 9,000 members on this forum, how much business to hatcheries comes from here.Alot I'm sure.
Will
