Oh! Good to see you! Don't go ordering any Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, if that's what you want, I have plenty.

Hello-

As a peruser of this site for a few years, I've finally registered and started using it. It's been really neat to chat with locals. I'm in El Dorado County. Anyway, I'm dropping in on you locals to see if anyone might be interested in splitting an order of Freedom Ranger chicks. The minimum order is 25 and I dont want that many.

Sorry Seth,

I have vowed to add NO MORE NEW breeds/varieties. I am trying to cut back & still keep a couple of the heritage breeds but have waaaaaaaaaaay too many birds.

I do love having all the colors of eggs & now that I am crossing my Blue Copper Marans with the Blk/Blue Ams next season I will have more colors than ever. I am excited after seeing a friends first generation Olive egger egg colors. I am lucky to have more room than I need but it gets me in trouble. Denny says I have the perfect set up for chicken tractors in the pasture. No thank you.......I can not imagine having to go out & move those things all the time & not have auto watereres etc......... I want less work not MORE.....LOL

I love having a variety of egg colors in my basket!  I was shocked a few days ago to open the nest box and find a purple grey egg from my OE.  Her eggs are a different color every day.  They range from khaki, to dark olive green, to army green, to greyish purple.  It's crazy!  Here is a pic of 3 of her eggs including the one that looked purple:

My tiny little silver Ameraucana finally started laying a couple of weeks ago.  She lays a light blue, very pointy egg.  Her first egg is on the right and the rounder one if from my BW Ameraucana.
