we won't be making Blanchard,, having a nice family dinner here at home tonight. stuffed, breaded pork loin, garlic herb roasted pototaoes, some good fresh vegiies and salad.

still minus a few cocks i need to start mycolor breeding off right, but what the hay, always need some pure breeds anyway!

So what stuffing do you put in your pork loin?

I'm fixing steak, double baked garlic potatoes and blooming onion.

I like a garlic Herb sour dough stuffing, I do this with Round steak too, just have to roll it up.

 After stuffing teh meat, I mix flavored crutons, lemon pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in the food processor, roll the meat in an egg batter and coat with the crushed cruton mix. then just bake real slow at about 225 for 4-5 hours.

I have your eggs set, with Guy's as well. You know yall are going to have start working together better. I set 70 for Guy + Yours and still had plenty of room in the tray.

 At any rate I will candle next saturday and let you know how they are looking. They will move to the hatcher on the 16th and should hatch the 18th. So plan a pick-up around the 19th or 20th unless i need to hang onto them for a little bit..

You will like the chicks hatching now.. I think the Columbian male has been a very busy boy and doing a good job too.. those chicks are huge, big eggs big chicks, big birds.. They are going to do well for you, hope you like Rosecombed birds your going to flock full of them.

I am awaiting a shipment of something that so long at it arrives in time and in good condition I plan to show in Pryor,, I like color on birds you don't see too often.

 At present I plan to have a trio of Columbian OE, 2 pair of Opal OE, two Birchen OE pullets, 2-4 brown red OE hens, a couple of splash oe hens, and a few rosecombs to bring. I wish the Silver Blue OE and Birchen OE males were in better feather but winter breeding is hard on feather quality. I always figured it was better to breed what I need and wait to show than show and miss out on teh breeder birds.

I leave for Florida on the 17th of Feb - Feb 22 so will pick them up when I get back.  Is the 23rd okay?

So the Cochin roo was not as busy as I was hoping.  Going to have to AI then. Then I can see helping to fill a tray....You big enabler you!

I love the Rosecombs.  My Singlecombed have had a little freeze damage even with the vaseline treatment...especially on the Minorcas.  The hen Lucie is raising a Minorca/CW cross and it is already twice the size of the SLW chick.

Question on Big chicks.  Since the larger birds can sometimes have vessel issues when grown too quickly,  is there anything I need to watch on growing these out?  You and I use the same Medicated Broiler Starter from SS in Shawnee. 

If there are some nice F1 for breeding I will keep a few of the roos.  Otherwise they will go to freezer camp.

Did any of the Cochins hatch?
