Robin, glad you got the critters off the birds, I bet they feel a ton better.

Poco, how sweet of you to bid on the Silkie boy for her :) This list is so nice.

Jcat, you don't have

I had forgotten that you got a few, I remember Nanakat had the rooster and the last of the females. They were part of our breeders.. if I remember and could always be wrong but Rebbecca had several of our LF Cochins from last year as well.

Ksane-- I give eggs to EVERYONE (if they don't go in the incubator). Eye dr office, dentist, chiropractor, delivery men, friends, my sister, DH work. Nobody has ran from them yet. I am sure a few people might be scared of the colored eggs. DD sells some-- but most of the time I still have plenty to share. DD will be thrilled to try & hatch the turkeys. Thanks so much!

Yeah, I didn't bother counting I knew you brought 70 and a few were not fertile, and knocked down a little then to hatch all but 4 it will be in the 60 range.. I was real surprised with the KO after our conversation about them. Did you want to drop some more off when you pick these up?

Actually I'd have to put it a few streets over because we're at the end. But that's not a bad idea.......I don't think I'd mind the interruptions near as much when it paid for a bag of chicken feed a week.

We give them away left and right, too lol My husband works with 2 guys with little kids and they're just enthralled with all the different colored and different sized eggs. I'm saving all the green and blue ones for the little 5 yr old. His dad said the kid would eat a dozen eggs a day if he'd let him.

I am looking forward to the Newcastle auction tonight.  Who else is going?  We are going to leave here in a bit, just waiting on someone wanting to buy some of my chicks.  Would love to put some faces with names tonight if your there.  You can't miss us, dh is bald as bald can get but makes up for his hair deficiancy on the top of his head by growing a beard, lol.  I will be wearing my standard "mom uniform" pony tail and hoody shirt, lol.

Folks pay fairly well for fresh eggs, and 3-4 dozen will easily buy a bag of feed. We have a neighbor lady that runs about 40 layers and does quite well at 3.50 a dozen and the birds are primarily free range on a fenced 6 acre area cleaning up what the sheep don't eat. I know she often gets 3 dozen a day and is looking to expand what she has so she can keep up better.

I liked Buster's set up and idea of teh farmers market..
