Oakieridge - those are great living quarters for your birds. The one you posted a pic of is a darling!

Junebug - good to see you post again. Yes, this thread goes quick most days. Sometimes I don't catch up either - just start at the end and keep going.

SOLD, lol  DH will come get it when he brings you more eggs.  Goofy birds are laying like crazy!!!  Our 3 feather foot cuckoo maran hens laid 4 eggs today.  I didn't think that was possible.  I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't been the one gathering eggs.  Of course I broke one, grrr.

My jacket, shoes, and socks have been through the wash twice.  I soaked everything in a baking soda bath before each wash cycle.  There is only a hint of skunk left.  I'm hanging the clothes outside to air dry.

I don't think I got any on my skin.  I washed my hair twice and conditioned it twice.  I still smell a little ick, but my hair will turn to straw if I do anything else to it today.  I use peroxide and baking soda when Conner gets skunked.  He is a lot more resilient than I am.

The newest hatchling has been rejected by the foster hen I placed it with. I was afraid that might happen so was keeping a close watch. The baby thinks I am it's mother anyway. I brought it in to get photos of it and when I set it on the table, it kept running toward me and jumping on my hand. It cheeps constantly if I'm not holding it and it tries to climb up toward my voice when it hears me talking. Sooooo cute, but since I'm not a hen I'll have to make other arrangements for it. I think I'll place it in a makeshift brooder and "borrow" a couple of it's siblings to grow with.

Now, tell me, what kind of hen wouldn't love this little face?
